The wildfires in California have killed at least nine people, and thousands more have evacuated their homes. Many homes have been destroyed or damaged, and the three largest fires currently burning have zero containment.
And this morning, Donald Trump weighed in by blaming poor forest management and threatening to withhold federal funding to California:
There is no reason for these massive, deadly and costly forest fires in California except that forest management is so poor. Billions of dollars are given each year, with so many lives lost, all because of gross mismanagement of the forests. Remedy now, or no more Fed payments!

“There is no reason for these massive, deadly and costly forest fires in California except that forest management is so poor,” he tweeted. “Billions of dollars are given each year, with so many lives lost, all because of gross mismanagement of the forests. Remedy now, or no more Fed payments!”
Obviously threatening to take away federal funding while fires are STILL burning is a heartless thing to do, and Twitter lashed out at Trump:
"These fires are your fault, so shape up or I will take money away from you," said the inspiring leader of the people who are losing everything in the fires. https://t.co/Urg6NJcrPT [2]

This is an absolutely heartless response. There aren’t even politics involved. Just good American families losing their homes as you tweet, evacuating into shelters. https://t.co/DJ4PN26bLZ [4]

There is no reason for you to be president. You are an incompetent piece of shit criminal. https://t.co/mRl4x7bo7U [6]

Firefighters in California who are risking their lives should know @realDonaldTrump [8] wants to pull their funding while they're literally fighting for their lives. The Queen of Hearts lives…"Off With Their Heads!" @realDonaldTrump [8] https://t.co/UhyRB6ezMJ [9]

Seriously?
President Climate Change Denier is threatening people in the middle of a disaster and now he's some kind of forestry expert. https://t.co/gJ1AyFbfFw [11]

At least 9 people are dead, law enforcement and fire departments are working ridiculous hours, thousands have lost their homes. I'm exhausted from having a president who doesn't feel an ounce of compassion. https://t.co/lwFnAtqbG3 [13]

This is a mortifying tweet. Any normal U.S. President would not threaten to withdraw federal funding from a state that is dealing with deadly wildfires. You are a mean person, @realDonaldtRump [8]. https://t.co/GmpqvT3Rgd [15]

Never in my life has one individual invoked such feelings disgust as this piece of cockroach shit right here. People are dying, losing their homes and our so-called leader tweets threats. Fucking abhorrent. #campfire [17] #CaliforniaFires [18] #WoolseyFire [19] https://t.co/3emh2pJXtD [20]
