Trump Repeatedly Yells At Reporter April Ryan And Tells Her To ‘Sit Down’ In Hostile News Conference

Donald Trump’s news conference on the midterm elections ended up becoming an all-out fight between himself and many different members of the White House press corps.

After a testy exchange with CNN’s Jim Acosta, NBC’s Peter Alexander was next to receive the microphone. But before asking his question, he started by defending Acosta as a “diligent reporter.”

“I’m not a big fan of yours either,” Trump shot back.

When Alexander asked Trump if he’s trying to pit Americans against each other with his rhetoric about Democrats, he retorted “what are you trying to be [Acosta]?”

Trump launched into a riff about Democrats supposedly being weak on crime and illegal immigration, and he took swipes at the accuracy of NBC’s coverage when Alexander tried to get him to directly answer his question.

Later in the press conference, Trump ordered CNN contributor April Ryan to sit down and be quiet when she tried to interject with a question. This led to him lamenting the “hostile media” as he scolded Ryan for cutting off another reporter.

“Sit down. I didn’t call on you … It’s such a hostile media. You rudely interrupted him.”

“Sit down. I didn’t call on you,” Trump said after calling on Daily Caller correspondent Saagar Enjeti with Ryan attempting to get a question in.

“It’s such a hostile media,” he added later after some back-and-forth with Ryan. “You rudely interrupted him [Enjeti].”

April Ryan is also a CNN contributor.

Trump continued to spar with reporters throughout the press conference, telling several others to sit down or stop asking questions. At another point, he accused CNN of “voter suppression,” citing the network’s election polling ahead of Tuesday’s elections.

In a later incident, Trump dismissed a black reporter who asked if his embrace of the “nationalist” label could be viewed as an embracing of white nationalism.

“That’s such a racist question,” the president fumed at PBS White House correspondent Yamiche Alcindo [1]. “I love our country, we have nationalists and globalists. I’m very offended by that question.”
