Well, it looks like Donald Trump won’t be having a sunny Christmas in Florida this year.
According to White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, Trump will remain in DC due to the government shutdown and Melania Trump will be flying back to spend the holiday with him. Melania just flew to Mar-a-Lago yesterday, once again burning through that sweet taxpayer cash.
Trump will remain in Washington for Christmas because of the shutdown, and the First Lady will return from Florida so they can spend the holiday together, Sarah Huckabee Sanders says in a statement.

On Friday, Melania Trump and her son left DC for Mar-a-Lago.
Her spokeswoman defended FLOTUS’s decision to travel without the president.
“It has long been the family’s tradition to spend their Christmas holiday at Mar-a-Lago. Her plans to travel with her son to their Florida home for his winter break have not changed this year,” Stephanie Grisham told CNN.
It is unclear when Melania may return.
On Saturday, Trump announced the Senate had adjourned until after Christmas, making an end to the shutdown prior to the Christmas holiday unlikely.
Senate adjourns until December 27th.

Twitter wasn’t pleased:
Oh dear. So now the taxpayers spend millions more to bring her back.

Did America spend money so we could take her to FL then go right back and get her?

If I were the First Lady, I'd say "That's OK. I'll stay here. No problem. We'll suffer alone, without you Donald."

What a waste of taxpayers money. She should have stayed in DC!

Who is paying for her flight?

With the government shut down can it really afford all this travel by the trump family?
