Trump Supporters Livid That Charges Are Dropped for Jussie Smollett, ‘A Trump Supporter Would be in Jail!’

Trump supporters expressed anger at Chicago’s decision Tuesday to drop charges against “Empire” actor Jussie Smollett of disorderly conduct for allegedly lying to police about a hate crime allegedly conducted by supporters of Donald Trump.

In a series of tweets, supporters of the president said the decision was a double standard decided by liberal, pro-Obama officials in the city.

“So I guess if you’re a famous Democrat in Chicago, this is what ‘justice’ looks like? Not corrupt at all,” tweeted former Trump aide Andrew Surabian, an advisor to Donald Trump Jr., who retweeted those comments.

Charlie Kirk, who heads the pro-Trump activist Turning Point USA, tweeted, “We have a two tiered justice system. If you are a Democrat, like Smollett, you get away with faking hate crimes. Prosecutor said it made no difference to prosecute because he had already done community service. If he had been a Trump supporter faking a crime he would be in prison.”

In a second post, he tweeted, “I think William Barr should instruct the Department of Justice to prosecute Jussie Smollett in federal court. No one is above the law, including people that hate Trump. Prosecute him to the fullest extent.”

Some, like One America News host and Pizzagate conspiracy theorist Jack Posobiec said the evidence was greater against Smollett than some prosecuted in the Russia collusion case.

“We have concrete, ironclad evidence Jussie Smollett filed false police report. There was no evidence Flynn/Stone/Papa conspired with Russia. Guess which ones got prosecuted?” he tweeted.

And of course Diamond and Silk had to get in their two cents:
