Trump Just Said Robert Mueller is ‘In Love’ With James Comey in Off-the-Rails Presser

Donald Trump gave a rambling press conference on Thursday in which he once again tried to undermine special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation.

Trump cited multiple alleged conflicts of interest, including the falsehood that Mueller was compromised because he and former FBI Director James Comey — who is set to appear on CNN tonight. — were “best friends.”

He also said there were “thousands” of photos of the two men together, and that Mueller was “in love” with Comey/

This isn’t the first time Trump has said the was a relationship between Mueller and Comey.

In September Trump told the conservative site The Daily Caller that “[Mueller’s] Comey’s best friend. And I could give you 100 pictures of him and Comey hugging and kissing each other. You know, he’s Comey’s best friend.”

And those photos of Comey and Mueller kissing and hugging? According to the FBI, they don’t exist.

BuzzFeed News reporter Jason Leopold shared the Justice Department’s response to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request he filed with the bureau asking for photographs of Mueller and Comey “hugging and kissing each other.”

The FBI said in response that its search did not turn up any records corresponding with Leopold’s request.

The bureau noted that there are three categories of law enforcement and national security records protected from FOIA requests, but added that the disclosure “should not be taken as an indication that excluded records do, or do not, exist.”

Another Trump lie…surprised?
