Donald Trump is set to deliver remarks at his “Salute to America” event in front of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C., on Thursday, Independence Day.
The July 4 event is scheduled to feature a 35-minute fireworks display, one of the longest fireworks shows D.C. has hosted and military aircraft flyovers.
Trump’s remarks were scheduled to begin at 6:30, but could face weather-related delays as storms hit the District.
And it seems Trump knows the turnout has been a big failure, as the webcam on the National Mall, which is normally on 24/7, has been temporarily shut down so people won’t be able to see the meager crowds at Trump’s event.
The webcam at the National Mall was abruptly shut down without notice and has been removed from the https://t.co/htcTPrpZCO [1] site. Presumably to stop viewers from seeing the lack of attendees at the #TrumpParade [2]. We are about to relive Trump’s inauguration all over again. pic.twitter.com/dDzoGLhkPK [3]

Washington Monument webcam has been turned off for Trump's 4th of July Celebration. I wonder why? pic.twitter.com/652zfLsSJs [5]

All the webcams pointed at Trump’s so-called #SaluteToAmerica [7] are down, so I guess we’ll never know how yuge the crowds really were… pic.twitter.com/j4FxG0LlI9 [8]

Embarressed by the sparse turnout for his Salute to Narcissism, Trump ordered the webcam that shows the crowd size turned off. https://t.co/djaGHZICvs [10]
