Ivanka to Come Face-to-Face With Meghan Markle Tomorrow After Her Father Called Her ‘Nasty’

Meghan Markle and Ivanka Trump are set for an awkward run-in this weekend as the pair are both expected to attend the same wedding.

Harry and Meghan have flown to Rome, Italy, for their fashion designer pal Misha Nonoo’s nuptials today.

Nonoo, who is believed to have played matchmaker to the royals, is to marry her oil tycoon boyfriend Mikey Hess – from one of America’s wealthiest families – in the Italian capital.

Any encounter between Meghan and Ivanka could prove awkward after the Duchess avoided meeting the Trumps during the President’s state visit in June.

The pair were friends back in 2014 and Meghan once described Ivanka as “staggeringly beautiful…. and intelligent” in a post on her blog The Tig, Mercury News reports.

However, relations between the former actress and her friend’s celebrity father soured when she criticized him during the 2016 presidential election.

Donald Trump hit back by calling the Duchess “nasty” ahead of his state visit to the UK.

Now Ivanka and her husband Jared Kushner are expected to attend Misha’s wedding.

Ivanka will be missing her father’s second state dinner, when Donald and Melania Trump host the Prime Minister of Australia, Scott Morrison and his wife Jennifer.

Interacting with Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, or being photographed with them, could be even more awkward for Meghan and Harry. Things definitely appeared to be tricky for Harry when Trump, First Lady Melania Trump, Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner visited Queen Elizabeth at Buckingham Palace during the president’s state visit.

This, of course, was after Trump’s “nasty” comment about Meghan. Harry joined the group for lunch. Prince Charles, his wife Camilla and Prince Andrew also were there, but Meghan wasn’t. Her official excuse was that she was out on maternity leave, having given birth to her son Archie the month before. But British TV host Piers Morgan accused Meghan of deliberately snubbing Trump and his family.

During that lunch visit, Harry evidently tried to avoid being seen interacting too much with the Trumps. He noticeably “hung back” when the queen led her guests into the palace’s picture gallery, where she showed the president, first lady and Ivanka and Jared a collection of U.S. artifacts, the Sun reported.
