Donald Trump signalled the launch of his latest online tirade by randomly tweeting the phrase “A Very Stable Genius”.
Trump appeared to be quoting someone else quoting the comments Trump first made in January 2018 in response to questions about his mental health.
He followed it up with a “thank you” to his mystery admirer, amid speculation he was spending his Saturday morning watching Fox News in bed.
“A Very Stable Genius!” Thank you.

Is…is Trump quoting himself??
Trump went on to attack TV host Joy Reid, an hour before the start of her MSNBC show.
Who the hell is Joy-Ann Reid? Never met her, she knows ZERO about me, has NO talent, and truly doesn’t have the “it” factor needed for success in showbiz. Had a bad reputation, and now works for the Comcast/NBC losers making up phony stories about me. Low Ratings. Fake News!

Trump first used the phrase “very stable genius” on Twitter in January 2018 following the publication of a book which portrayed him as a man of questionable intelligence who spent his evenings eating cheeseburgers in bed, watching television and chatting to friends on the phone.
“Actually, throughout my life, my two greatest assets have been mental stability and being, like, really smart,” the president responded.
After boasting about becoming president on his first try, he added: “I think that would qualify as not smart, but genius….and a very stable genius at that!”
Twitter had a field day:
Q: What kind of person goes on social media and calls themself a “Very Stable Genius?”
A: Not a stable genius. https://t.co/vpuvcuAZNU [3]

Real geniuses never say they’re a genius, people can tell.
People who are stable never say they’re stable, people can tell.
Someone who is bluntly unintelligent, erratic and narcissistic can say they’re a stable genius.
People can still tell Trump is an unhinged lunatic…

Dude, nobody but you ever called you that…which means you just thanked yourself for your own compliment.
That's creepy and it sorta undermines the compliment itself.
You need a nap, therapy, meds and retirement. Not necessarily in that order… https://t.co/tipzDCIypf [10]

He's now quoting himself to himself and thanking himself for his own compliment to himself. https://t.co/0jiAPOgyo2 [12]
