Alan Dershowitz Says Trump is ‘Far More Powerful’ Than a King — and the Founding Fathers Wanted it That Way

Alan Derhsowitz claims that Donald Trump is more powerful than a king and that’s how the Founding Fathers wanted it.

The former Harvard law professor told Fox News’ Laura Ingraham on Monday night that Trump has more power than a monarch.

Ingraham asked Dershowitz about a court ruling that former White House Counsel Don McGahn must testify before Congress. Dershowitz dismissed the decision.

“Well the big winner is Uber, because McGahn’s gonna have to get into his car, he’s gonna have to go over to the Capitol, raise his hand, take an oath, and then he can invoke privilege,” he said.

“This has no substantive impact,” Dershowitz said. “The judge went out of her way to say I’m not ruling on the issues of privilege, all I’m saying is he has to show up.”

“Then she went nuts talking about how the President’s not the king,” he said. “Of course the President’s not a king. The President’s far more powerful than the king. The President has the power that kings have never had.”

“He has a very, very powerful office and the Framers wanted it that way. That’s why they required for impeachment very strict criteria to be met,” Dershowitz said.

Dershowitz faced no push back on his claim that Trump is more powerful than a king, a claim the Framers of the Constitution might find troubling.
