People are Comparing Trump’s Turkey Pardoning to Obama’s and It’s Not Very Flattering to Trump
Donald Trump has been compared to Barack Obama once again after his Thanksgiving turkey pardon, littered with references to his ongoing impeachment hearings, seemed to lack the warmth and wit of his predecessor.
The National Thanksgiving Turkey Presentation takes place at the White House every year and sees a turkey “pardoned” and therefore spared death ahead of Thanksgiving.
Never one to miss an opportunity Trump used the traditional ceremony to address the assembled media and lash out his critics, saying, “It seems the democrats are accusing me of being too soft on turkey but, Bread and Butter, I should note that, unlike previous witnesses, you and I have actually met… It’s very unusual.”
He went on to say, “In any event, I expect this pardon will be a very popular one with the media. After all, turkeys are closely related to vultures.”
In a baffling breaking of the fourth wall, the President added, “I don’t know if I like that line but there is a little truth to it.”

And people couldn’t help but be reminded of how previous president Barack Obama delivered his own “turkey pardons.”

This was probably my favorite scene in 8 years of turkey pardons…when Obama told his dad jokes and daughter Sasha started laughing.

You can see the true love that Obama has for his daughters….it’s so refreshing. Trump didn’t even bring Barron to yesterday’s pardoning, even though he was in the White House because he was later seen leaving the WH for Florida.

The best part, though, is that the turkeys actually get put up in a hotel, although are we taxpayers paying for that?
Americans want to see POTUS carve up the turkey.

Others on Twitter enjoyed reminiscing back to the Obama years when everything just seemed…better:
I had to look up an old turkey-pardoning speech by President Obama just to get a bearing on what a normal speech sounds like–I've become too used to Trump's very simple, halting language; check it out: https://t.co/2e6rkEyZmg
