Watch Kellyanne Conway Snap at NBC Reporter Over ‘Never Trumpers,’ ‘Why Do You Care!?’

Kellyanne Conway had a fiery exchange with a reporter asking why Donald Trump called an official who heard his call with the Ukrainian president a “never Trumper.”

The back-and-forth happened on Wednesday morning when NBC News’ White House correspondent Peter Alexander said Trump called two witnesses, Ukraine-born U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Vindman and U.S. Diplomat to Ukraine William Taylor, “never Trumpers.”

“Never Trumpers” are Republicans who tried to prevent Trump from winning the 2016 Republican nomination for president.

Trump has threatened to expose information about Vindman, who testified that the White House left out important references to 2020 Democratic candidate Joe Biden in a partial transcript of Trump’s call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

“The president said two individuals were never Trumpers. Both Taylor and Alexander Vindman, that those men are never Trumpers,” Peter Alexander said.

“I don’t even know what you’re asking about,” Conway said.

When Alexander followed up with, “What evidence is there that they are never Trumpers?” Conway shot back, “Why do you care?” Conway then went on to defend the president.

“I’m not going to call you a never Trumper,” Conway said, “But what evidence do you have that the democratically elected president of the United States should be thrown out of office and removed based on the testimony of the people you had never even heard of weeks ago?”

Conway and Alexander went at it several more times until Conway asked if NBC was reporting on the impeachment inquiry or “asking people how they voted.”

“I’m just trying to hold the president accountable for comments that he made,” the reporter said.

Conway then accused NBC of a plot.

“No you’re not,” Conway said. “You want the president impeached and you don’t have the goods.”

Trump was asked by a reporter on Sunday what evidence he had that Vindman is a never Trumper.

“We’ll be showing that to you real soon, OK?” Trump responded, but did not comment further and ignored related questions.

Trump called the Ukraine scandal a “scam” between “the Democrats and the fake news media,” although officials within his administration have suggested that it was a quid pro quo.
