Donald Trump is heading to his Florida resort Mar-a-Lago later this week for the holidays.
Trump and his family are expected to spend at least two weeks at the resort, which he refers to as the Southern White House, according to the Palm Beach Post .
The president was supposed to spend 16 days there last Christmas but canceled those plans because of a partial government shutdown.
Instead, first lady Melania Trump and their 13-year-old son Barron kept their tradition of spending Christmas at Mar-a-Lago while the president stayed at the White House. Trump and his wife then made a surprise visit to Iraq a day after Christmas to visit U.S. troops.
I will be there in two weeks, The Southern White House! https://t.co/2djJrzAEfZ

Trump spent his 2017 Christmas holiday at Mar-a-Lago, staying there for 12 days before returning to Washington, D.C.
The White House has not yet confirmed the exact dates of his 2019 trip.
Trump’s likely arrival later this week coincides with Turning Point USA’s annual Student Action Summit in West Palm Beach. The four-day event is expected to draw 5,000 student activists between the ages of 15-25 for activism and leadership training and is the largest gathering of young conservative students in the United States.
Among the speakers are Rudy Giuliani, the president’s personal attorney, Donald Trump Jr., Fox News hosts Sean Hannity and Laura Ingraham, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, Panhandle firebrand U.S. Rep. Matt Gaetz and former White House press secretary Sarah Sanders.
Now, Trump taking an extra-long vacation shouldn’t be a big deal. The president is entitled to a vacation, as his job (when he actually works) is stressful.
But let’s look back at all the time Trump slammed Obama for daring to take a winter vacation:
Pres. Obama is about to embark on a 17 day vacation in his ‘native’ Hawaii, putting Secret Service away from families on Christmas. Aloha!

LOL, oh my God Trump actually said this:
The habitual vacationer, @BarackObama , is now in Hawaii. This vacation is costing taxpayers $4 milion +++ while there is 20% unemployment.

With a record deficit and $15 trillion in debt, @BarackObama is spending $4 million of our money on his Hawaii vacation. Just plain wrong.

The habitual vacationer, @BarackObama , has sacrificed so much. He is delaying his 17 day Hawaii vacation a couple of hours.

Trump has already held his Hanukkah celebration last week even though the holiday isn’t until December 23rd…there is a tweet for EVERYTHING!!
Why was the Hanukah celebration held in the White House two weeks early? @BarackObama wants to vacation in Hawaii in late December. Sad.
