Donald Trump Says That Melania’s Beauty Alone Qualifies Her to be First Lady

The job of First Lady is often a difficult one.

It’s not an elected position, and there is no salary. The First Lady is elevated to one of the most visible positions in the land simply based on who she married.

That brings us to Melania Trump.

I was doing some research about our current “First Lady” and I don’t think it’s a stretch to say she is terrible at her job. For me, the moment she wore that “I really don’t care, do U?” jacket to visit caged immigrant children, it was over for me. That is her legacy, period.

I discovered an article from People magazine back in 2015, which featured Melania, Donald and Barron Trump.

The article had a few gems, and a bunch of lies.

For once, Melania said she loved modeling and fashion because her mother was a fashion designer.

“I always loved fashion. My mother was a fashion designer so it was always in my blood,” she says.

That’s a lie. Melania’s mother Amalija Knavs was pattern-maker at a children’s clothing factory. But hey, lying is obviously a part of this family’s DNA.

And then there was this little beauty.

Then-presidential candidate Trump spoke about what his wife would be like as first lady. He started his answer off strong, but then brought her looks up as if that were a qualification.

“I could see her being very involved in women’s health issues,” he said, before adding, “She’s very calm and confident, very warm, and very beautiful.”

Gross.

And this isn’t the first time Trump made such a comment. Trump also once said that his women were “more beautiful” than the other candidates’ women.

It was during his colorful interview with Piers Morgan that Trump dropped this gem about what he had that the people who ran against him didn’t have.

“I think the only difference between me and the other candidates is that I’m more honest and my women are more beautiful,” he told the Good Morning Britain host.

I will never get over how disgusting this is.

Beauty is not a qualification for any job…except perhaps being a model. And Melania wasn’t even successful at that.

Despite Donald Trump’s claim that Melania was one of the most successful supermodels ever (yes, he said that), she wasn’t. She wasn’t even moderately successful.

Matthew Atanian, a photographer who was Melania’s roommate when she first moved to New York City, said Melania’s career was foundering.

In fact, the biggest modeling gigs she ever got were due to being Donald’s girlfriend/wife.

After being known on Trump’s side, Melania infamously posed nude (with strategic covering) for British GQ’s “Sex at 30,000 feet: Melania Knauss earns her air miles” cover story in the January 2000 issue.

“She’s popular, she’s brilliant, she’s a wonderful woman,” Trump told the magazine.

Again, none of that is true.

Previous first ladies brought something to the position. All of them were highly educated. Even Barbara Bush had attended a top college, but didn’t graduate because she married George H.W. Bush instead, which was more common and acceptable in 1945. Melania Trump dropped out of college months after she arrived, not even completing one semester.
