Melania at the Center of Serious Criminal Investigation by an Independent Prosecutor
This literally could go any direction. But it is the definition of the swamp.
We at Flare understand that it is best to keep an eye on Melania. It appears there are others who want to keep an eye on and eventually possible cuffs on Melania.
Melania is an odd duck in the Trump orbit. Unlike most Trumps, she doesn’t say much, apparently preferring to lurk in the background doing god only knows what. The fact is, the “other Trumps” so purposefully suck-up all the media oxygen that Melania can get away with damn near anything, even perhaps stealing $26 million dollars. Or taking the fall for it.
Let me explain.
Everyone has read the weird reports relating back to the Trump inauguration. Tellingly, Trump’s first real opportunity to cash-in on being president took about 20 minutes. Weird reports will always come out whenever someone raises a shocking amount of money for an event composed of shocking little. Of course, Trump raised over $100 million for his inauguration and still couldn’t get U2 or Springsteen involved.
But Melania was strangely involved.
Melania’s best friend, Stephanie Winston-Wolkoff, a party planner, formed a newly-minted company in December of 2016, the month before the inauguration and Behold! That company got the contract to plan this “party.” This brand spanking new company won the contract to be paid $26 million to plan the inauguration party. Note – again – the company was paid to plan a two day party, a big one to be sure, but it was still a party. The company was not paid to merge Exxon with BP, design a new generation fighter jet, nor even build part of a big beautiful wall, but to plan a party.
This, of course, would attract law enforcement attention. If a politician sold a used van and someone paid a million dollars for it, it will get law-enforcement’s attention. It is sort of the definition of swampy.
Surprise. Law enforcement noticed. As reported by the New York Times:
“The inquiry focuses on whether people from Middle Eastern nations — including Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates — used straw donors to disguise their donations to the two funds. Federal law prohibits foreign contributions to federal campaigns, political action committees and inaugural funds.”
No shit?
I’ll be damned. The very first country that Trump visited as president, a famously rich country, might have come under suspicion of “buying” Trump by donating to this inauguration? Shocking.
Pffft.
Okay, obviously money has been flying from foreign countries into Trump’s circle since Trump became a serious contender. He just so obviously can be bought-off. He practically admits it. If he gets reelected after being acquitted in this impeachment, I expect he will admit it. He will have commercials inviting more “donations,” commercials in Arabic that run in Saudi Arabia.
But this particular attempt to be bought off has been taken-up by the U.S. Attorney and the District of Columbia prosecutor. The District of Columbia prosecutor is completely independent of Barr and Trump. It also has Melania right in the center. According to Deep Left Field:
While we don’t have access to the inner workings of the investigation of the inaugural committee, former Deputy Attorney General Harry Litman said on MSNBC that the First Lady is facing legal exposure just for the appearance that something shady was behind that $26 million payment.
Oh, and even if the federal investigation goes nowhere thanks to the meddling of Attorney General William Barr, the AG for Washington, D.C. is already issuing subpoenas related to the Trump inaugural, and neither Barr or Trump can interfere with state probes or criminal charges brought by local authorities.
This is of no surprise, it just hasn’t been reported much, and very few have reported on Melania facing serious exposure. It is just sitting there so plainly. Quick review.
Melania’s friend forms a new company for the express purpose of accepting $26 million dollars (Winston-Wolkoff could’ve done the job without forming the company, indeed her name sounds like someone who would be happy to take a large check from a foreign country), a sum of money that could easily have come from foreign countries such as Saudi Arabia, all to plan a party? Yes, Melania was and is going to be the epicenter of the investigation.
I almost feel bad, for Melania. Because I seriously doubt that Melania had a thing to do with actually coming-up with the idea or setting-up anything criminal. Donald Trump wanted that money and didn’t want to name his best friend to receive the $26 million dollars. And Donald is damn sure not going to trust anyone else to grab his $26 million. What to do?
Melania’s friend just happened to be perfect. Probably equally clueless about the criminal implications of receiving so much money, and absolutely willing to hand the bulk of it back over to Trump after pocketing a nice holding fee. With beautiful irony, that person fits the exact description of someone desperately wanting to roll over at the first sign of trouble and blow the beans on the entire Trump family.
Poor Melania.
Trump isn’t going to feel bad for her, though. He never feels bad for anyone else, as we know. It is like when a servicemember dies protecting our nation, Donald knows: “She knew what she was getting into.”
Not really, but close enough.
I don’t care, do u?
****
Peace, y’all
