Trump Just Praised Mike Pompeo for Bullying and Swearing at an NPR Reporter — ‘Be Best’
Following a morning of media bashing on Twitter, Donald Trump praised his Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, for his confrontation with NPR reporter Mary Louise Kelly in which the nation’s top diplomat berated the reporter in private following a contentious interview.
Because there is nothing Trump loves more than a big ol’ bully!
Trump’s remark came during a news conference announcing his Middle East peace proposal, which has already been rejected by the Palestinian leadership.
During the event, Trump praised Pompeo for his work on the plan and then shouted out his confrontation with the NPR reporter.
“That reporter couldn’t have done too good a job on you yesterday, huh?” Trump said. “I think you did a good job on her, actually.”

Pompeo claimed that Kelly had violated a pre-interview agreement between the two after he refused to engage on the subject of Ukraine. But emails reported by the Washington Post support Kelly’s claim that she refused to take any subject off the table.

Twitter was sickened:
People will say he’s kidding because there’s laughter but when your whole platform is “believe no women” it’s hard to find this funny. https://t.co/TgIZg77ft6

Normalizing this behavior is how we ended up where we are.
Loathsome. SecState Chuckles can go back to Kansas where the Russians will serenade him with Russian state media radio. https://t.co/skrmti7kxA

We have an authoritarian as president who doesn't respect the free press or freedom of press, who has repeatedly called the free press "the enemy of the people," while simultaneously praising and idolizing dictators across the globe.
Needless to say, this is not a good look. https://t.co/oP7brhkdI6
