The blog is new to Political Flare, and from time to time editorializes, and we have heard we do it well. This will be one of those times, who knows if it will be good, but it will be with heart.

What the hell are the Democrats thinking?

Apparently, there is an offer out there to allow witnesses into the trial so long as each side gets to call their preferred witnesses. Bargain hard, attempt to get Trump’s people up there without a swap, but damn it, Democrat, if it becomes clear that it is absolutely necessary, due the damned swap!!

Of course neither Biden nor Hunter have a single thing relevant to Trump’s illegal behavior, not a damned thing, fck no. But I assume that the House attorneys are more than capable of getting that point across quite easily, both while the Bidens are on the stand, and in final arguments.

Moreover, I also assume that Joe Biden is completely innocent of corrupt actions in Ukraine. Joe Biden should be acting like there is nothing he wants more than to clear up the lies and answer every question. He would have the nation all to himself to strongly talk about the great work done by the Obama administration, and demonstrate how a real patriot approaches his duty – fearlessly, and without any concern about anyone asking questions about his actions. He could remind everyone every other sentence that his behavior has nothing to do with Trump’s illegality. Most presidential candidates would dream of the opportunity to speak while the entire nation watches and set out a clear distinction between him and fearful Trump. Biden could demonstrate that he can hit Trump like batting practice fast-balls, each answer deep into the upper-deck.

As for Hunter, well, I think we can all agree that taking that job was pretty slimy. BUT it was not illegal. And Hunter can point out that it was not illegal, that he did nothing illegal, that he was never accused of doing anything illegal, and half the Board of Director’s jobs on Earth would be vacant were it not for recruiting big “names” as a PR move. I also assume that Hunter and Joe – unlike Trump – did nothing to alter U.S. policy to benefit themselves personally. Every other answer can contain a sentence like: “Unlike Trump, we did not …, while it is clear that Trump did …”

If they did do something wrong (they didn’t), don’t you think it best that it come out now and not in mid October?

But I reiterate, they didn’t do anything wrong. Had they done something wrong, we would already know about it because the Russians would have spread the evidence everywhere already.

Yes, yes, yes, it basically allows Trump to make all the accusations he intended to that got him into this mess – except the swap is for the witnesses that will sit there and say that the entire thing was bullshit!! These would be the witnesses that would describe a president so afraid of Joe Biden that Trump had to enlist foreign powers to help him beat Biden. As each witness takes the stand, the contrast between Trump and Biden will only grow. The “corruption” will be exposed, and once out, that evidence is not going back into the black-hearted vault that Trump carries around in his pointed head.

At stake is getting rid of Donald Trump, who remains a real and present danger to the future of the United States as a democratic republic. I believe the stakes are high enough that we need put up with some bullshit to get the people on the stand who will reveal Trump’s true identity.

True, perhaps no amount of evidence, introduced by even the best witnesses, will move 67 Republican senators to vote to convict. But the evidence will also hurt – severely – every single Republican going into 2020, and even 2022, while also crippling Trump going into 2020.

Joe Biden says that he is running because the country cannot afford another four years of Donald Trump. Fine. Step up, Joe, and do your part. It could seal your primary campaign, and perhaps seal a victory (you are not even close to being my candidate, but if you hammered Trump, it could move you way up the list). If it all goes to shit for you, Biden, personally, you still could be the one that brings down Trump – your stated goal.

So, WTELF??

This seems like the biggest no brainer out there. AS A LAST RESORT.

The only reason this offer is even on the table is Trump is an insane narcissisist with the worst tactical instincts. Not a single Republican senator thinks it is a good idea to swap witnesses. The offer exists because the Republicans have been ordered to make it.

Trump figures that his 67 zombies will acquit him no matter the evidence, and thinks he’ll get a chance to beat-up Biden. That is Trumpian analysis, and it sucks every bit as much as most things he analyzes. We would never, ever, have even had the shot at this deal were it not for the fact that Republicans must follow Trump’s orders, lest they get what they fear the most … the red-faced, raging death tweet lobbed at any Republican that opposes Trump.

Democrats should act like a swap is the greatest thing that could ever happen. They should dance a jig down the aisle as they hand in their witness list. They should act like they’re not the least bit afraid of the truth coming out, that they appreciate the courtesy, and that they will do anything to prove the real corruption at issue, and the real innocence, no matter how irrelevant.

To be clear, in no way should the Democrats HAVE to do this. In no way are Biden and Hunter relevant. But fck that anyway!! Get Bolton and Mulvaney’s asses on that stand and get them to explain what happened. Seal Trump’s fate for good, either in trial, or in November. Oh, and, not for nothing, but when these Republicans hear from Bolton and Mulvaney, and hear that things were every bit as bad – worse – than they were told, don’t doubt for a second that some real fury will grow among Republican senators that Trump put them in that position, where they spent months in front of cameras calling this a hoax. Only to look like complete lying jackasses when the evidence they tried to suppress comes out.

At that point, if the evidence of Trump’s criminality comes out for all the world to see, Republican senators might relish a vote to finish the asshole off, having been made fools out of, and now having a vote to show the people back home that they will not abide abject criminality and evidence suppression.

IF it gets right down to it, IF it is the only way, DAMNIT, DO IT, DEMS!!
