A Sniffing and Sickly-Looking Trump Gets Nasty and Says He Doesn’t Regret Calling Virus a Hoax
Donald Trump held a last-minute press conference on the coronavirus on Saturday, announcing the 1:30pm presser earlier Saturday morning.
And it’s needed, because officials in Washington state on Saturday announced the first death in the United States from the coronavirus.
There were no details immediately available about the person, but Trump said it was a woman in her late 50’s.
“It is a sad day in our state as we learn that a Washingtonian has died from COVID-19,” Washington Gov. Jay Inslee said in a statement.
“Our hearts go out to his family and friends. We will continue to work toward a day where no one dies from this virus.”
Trump acknowledges first coronavirus death, but mentions woman was "a medically high-risk patient in her late 50s."
"Additional cases in the US are likely, but healthy individuals should be able to fully recover," he adds. pic.twitter.com/H57kD1zRh8

Trump looks absolutely terrible at the press conference…take a look:

Trump was then asked about calling the coronavirus a “hoax”, and he got nasty and lashed out at the reporter who asked the question:
REPORTER: You used the word "hoax" to talk about this last night. Do you regret that?
TRUMP: "No no no. 'Hoax' referring to the action [Dems] take to try and pin this on somebody, because we've done such a good job." pic.twitter.com/ffiCnLskxe

Trump then said he was planning to close the southern border, dispute the fact that no cases of coronavirus have come from Mexico:

And Trump basically is completely downplaying the virus, which was expected:
