Obama Strikes Back at Disgusting Pro-Trump Ad — Demands Immediate Removal of Ad Attacking Joe Biden

Our guy – the best president of my lifetime – is back, and he’s not going to take Trump’s bullshit silently. Indeed, it would seem that Obama’s anger is up, and he’s engaging the private sector, something Trump doesn’t control, and getting involved. So there is real hope.

Summary here:

On Wednesday, Politico reported that former President Barack Obama is demanding TV stations take down an attack ad from a pro-Trump super PAC that spliced his words out of context to imply he claimed former Vice President Joe Biden is racist.

Yes, it is a Super PAC, so it is not that it is quite man on man, this isn’t run by the Trump campaign specifically. The law prohibits coordination between a Super PAC and the campaign. And yet no one has really defined “coordination” well, and anyone who thinks there is “No” coordination, especially involving a Trump campaign that has never respected any rules, would be as naïve as a stool. Thus, there is no way in my opinion that the Trump campaign didn’t know of and approve the ad, and thus the demand to take it down functions as a demand of the television stations, directing anger at Trump.

No wonder Obama is furious enough to enter into the fray. The timing of the ad could not be more aggressive, and the topic must be one that has left Obama livid. It involves Joe Biden just prior to the South Carolina primary, AND it accuses Joe Biden of having racist thoughts about Obama.

“The Committee to Defend the President super PAC’s ad, which began airing Tuesday as part of a $250,000 ad buy, is the latest in a string of Republican efforts designed to torpedo Biden in an effort to keep him from facing President Donald Trump,” reported Marc Caputo. “This ad aims at the majority black electorate in South Carolina, a must-win state for Biden, by misleadingly using Obama’s words from his 1995 book, ‘Dreams from My Father,’ to suggest that the former president believes his vice president supports ‘plantation politics’ that hurt African-Americans.”

I suspect that Obama is going to call out Trump directly to publicly disown the ad if the demand to the stations fails.

This despicable ad is straight out of the Republican disinformation playbook, and it’s clearly designed to suppress turnout among minority voters in South Carolina by taking President Obama’s voice out of context and twisting his words to mislead viewers,” wrote Obama’s communications director.

My god.

I can’t believe this is all that Obama is doing. He must be furious! He has to demand that Trump publicly disown the ad. Obama might want to consider running some ads himself, I am sure he can raise the money. It would have to be looking directly into the camera, no more time. It would be a way to somewhat support Biden without “really” supporting Biden. Obama could do an interview for South Carolina TV stations.

Just the imagine the fury that must be channeling through Obama’s bones right now. He has pledged to stay out of the Democratic primary, believing that the nominee has to “earn it.” He is right to do it. For him to take this action really is something.

Obama gave the story to Politico, I am presuming. How else would it get there? So it is even more direct, demanding the ad be taken down, and taking the initiative to get it to the biggest political website with widest distribution.

Oh, and one last thing. The fact that the Trump administration (through a Super PAC) is running this against Joe Biden means they very much still fear Biden, and – of course – not Bernie Sanders. Make of that what you will.

An unnamed Trump campaign adviser said that the president still very much fears facing Biden in the 2020 election, adding that, “We think we can beat all of them, but Bernie [Sanders] is easier to beat because he’s so far left that it’s the type of choice we want.”

Obama is coming onto the scene, and at an unexpected time, with an unexpected fury. South Carolina TV stations which serve so many black Americans will feel tremendous heat to take them down. Perhaps round one goes to Obama.

We can only hope.
