Sourpuss Trump Looks Miserable at Super Bowl Party That Cost American Taxpayers $3.4 Million

Donald Trump will return to Washington Sunday for a week of headline political happening, including the Iowa caucuses, the State of the Union speech and a final U.S. Senate vote on his impeachment.

Trump is scheduled to wrap up a three-day Palm Beach weekend by hosting his annual Super Bowl party at his West Palm Beach golf club.

The president will return to Washington tonight for a week of headline political happenings.

On Monday, Democratic voters in Iowa will kick-off the 2020 primary season by casting votes in the traditional statewide caucus following a year’s worth of campaigning that started with two dozen candidates and witnessed a half dozen televised debates. On Wednesday, the U.S. Senate has scheduled a final vote in the impeachment trial that is widely expected to conclude in Trump’s acquittal.

Sandwiched between those events, the president will deliver the State of the Union address on Tuesday in the U.S. House of Representatives, with his impeachment nemesis, Speaker Nancy Pelosi, sitting just behind him.

Asked if he would delay the State of the Union speech until after the impeachment vote, Trump said he would not. And then he gave a glimpse of what he would highlight during the annual address.

“We’re gonna talk about the achievements that we’ve made,” he said. “Nobody has made achievements like we’ve made, so many different things, I’m so proud of what we’ve done for our vets with choice, we got them choice, we got them accountability, where we can take care of our vets. Where we can get rid of people who aren’t taking care of our vets.”

However, Trump doesn’t look too thrilled at his Super Bowl party.

There was also video taken of Trump arriving at the party, joined by his wife and son Barron.

Trump should be thrilled because his Super Bowl party and weekend at his luxury reported in totally on the taxpayer.

HuffPost broke the news today that this trip of the Trumps will cost us $3.4 million.

From HuffPost:

Taxpayers shelled out another $3.4 million to send President Donald Trump to Florida this weekend so he could host a Super Bowl party for paying guests at his for-profit golf course.

The president’s official schedule shows him spending two and a half hours Sunday evening at a “Super Bowl LIV watch party” at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach. Tickets sold for $75 each, but were only available to members of the club — the initiation fee for which reportedly runs about $450,000, with annual dues costing several thousands of dollars more.

“Well, obviously there are no TVs in the White House, so what alternative did he have?” quipped Robert Weissman, president of the liberal group Public Citizen. “He could have saved money by chartering a plane and flying club members to watch the game at the White House.”

In response to a query, White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham defended Trump’s trip and attacked HuffPost: “The premise of your story is ridiculous and false, and just more left-wing media bias on display. The president never stops working, and that includes when he is at the Winter White House.”
