Trump Called President Obama a ‘Psycho’ and Questioned His Mental Health Over How Obama Handled Ebola

One of the only good things about Trump’s constant tweeting and lack of any principles beyond hatred of those opposed to him, is that there is always a tweet that is either ironic or indicative of Trump’s incompetence.

This is from 2014, and just too perfect for today, Tweet copied from Business Insider:

“I am starting to think that there is something seriously wrong with President Obama’s mental health,” Trump tweeted in 2014. “Why won’t he stop the flights. Psycho!”

Trump wanted all the flights from Ebola infected countries “stopped,” which makes absolutely no sense – of course – because there were no direct flights from the three African nations suffering the outbreak. What Trump probably “meant” (if he meant anything) was to stop the entry of anyone from any direction who had been through those nations.

Obama refused to do it.

Want to know why?

Because he listened to the doctors at the CDC who told him that doing so would only exacerbate the problem [1]:

“If we institute a travel ban instead of the protocols that we’ve put in place now, history shows that there is a likelihood of increased avoidance. They’re less likely to be treated properly, screened properly and quarantined properly. And as a consequence, we could end up having more cases rather than less.”

Obama didn’t just make that up in his genius head, he listened to the scientists and physicians that study pandemics rather than reach for the most panicked answer. Obama did what was “right” rather than what sounded “right.”

And guess what?

We didn’t get an Ebola epidemic here in the U.S., and the one that was in West Africa abated relatively quickly due to the fact that medical professionals could get in and out and treat people through proper procedures.

Now Trump is “in charge,” and is more concerned about the DOW than in actually treating public health like a grown-up. He has now increased the likelihood that the pandemic gets worse rather than better.

Which, if you will note, is exactly what a “psycho” would do.
