Trump White House Hires College Senior as a Top Official in Critical Department

Sometimes I believe that Putin really does control Donald Trump’s every single decision, and that Putin’s goal is to weaken the United States government so thoroughly that it will take 25 years to get the government back to how it functioned as recently as 4 years ago. It almost appears as though the goal is maximum incompetence or perhaps that their stated goal of 100% occasionally requires 100% lack of experience.

Do you believe Exxon or Walmart would hire a college senior to a top executive position?

A 23-year-old senior attending George Washington University has been tapped to fill a top role in the White House’s Presidential Personnel Office (PPO), Politico reported Tuesday.

The PPO, according to the White House’s website, oversees “the selection process for presidential appointments and works to recruit candidates to serve the president in departments and agencies throughout the Executive Branch.”

Obviously this is not a comment on the talents or intellectual rigor of 23 year olds. But experience and maturity are vital in teaching the life lessons that allow one to have failed and learned in lesser roles, building-up a bedrock of personal experience that make one’s decisions and style more dependable and contemplative at 45 than 25. This is true whether one is a parent, coach, government employee, or even a writer. It is also obvious to everyone outside the Trump orbit.

According to Politico, which cited three administration officials familiar with the reported hire, James Bacon, who is currently studying for his bachelor’s degree, will be the office’s next director of operations. Bacon will reportedly succeed Katja Bullock, who is more than 50 years his senior, in the new role.

Who wants to bet that Bullock is considered “less loyal” than Bacon, the college senior who – for all we know – is a leading voice on Breitbart, proving his bona fides?

No, neither Exxon nor Walmart is hiring a college senior as even the executive secretary to the director of human resources, perhaps especially the executive secretary position. But I suppose when it’s money on the line people demand top job performance and discernment, whereas when it’s “just” the most powerful government on earth, then loyalty and cleverness will substitute for competence and leadership.

Now imagine how long it will take the next president to fill top positions in each of these departments and throughout the entire executive brach. It is not just the White House that will need to hire  a wave of experienced “real” people to do the jobs, but Treasury, Justice, Defense, …

This probably is a directive by Putin. He likely thinks there’s some art in turning this into a dark comedy. The White House is not only a new reality show, it’s actually “The Apprentice DC – US Government,” except the show usually had more experienced adults beginning the new season. Oh, and they were fired for incompetence, not hired as some plot to destroy …

Peace, y’all
