Trump (With Enormous Pupils) Claims Stock Market is Sliding Because of Democrats … Then Admits Coronavirus is a Factor

Donald Trump tapped Vice President Mike Pence to lead the government response to the coronavirus, and then seemingly blamed Democrats for the stock market slide.

“I’m going to be putting our vice president, Mike Pence, in charge. And Mike will be working with the professionals,” Trump said during a rare appearance in the White House briefing room.

“Mike is going to be in charge, and Mike will report back to me,” he added. “But he’s got a certain talent for this.”

Trump’s comments in the briefing room and his decision to make Pence the point person represented an effort to bolster public confidence about his administration’s response to the virus, which has spread quickly across the globe.

The administration has come under vigorous criticism from members of both parties over its initial response.

On Tuesday, officials with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention warned it would inevitably spread in the United States, even as one top Trump economic adviser said it was contained in the U.S., describing it as “airtight.”

There are currently less than 60 cases of coronavirus in the U.S., but CDC official Dr. Nancy Messonnier on Tuesday made it clear there would certainly be more cases in the U.S.

Putting Pence in charge will likely lend authority to the federal response to the coronavirus, a needed bonus for an administration that has been marred by credibility issues.

It was also noted by a few people on Twitter that Trump’s pupils are rather large, and that’s never a good sign:

Damn, look at this…Trump’s pupils are the size of dimes.

Is Trump on drugs?

Moving along, Trump then blamed the crash of the stock market on Democrats…and then admitted that yes, it is also because of coronavirus, was it was telling he blamed Democrats first. (Democrats had nothing to do with it.)

And then he did it again…blamed the Democrats:

I think Nancy Pelosi said it best:
