Trump’s ‘Breathtaking Incoherence’ at Press Conference Lights Up Internet, ‘This Was a Disaster!’
There are incoherent press conferences, and then there are breathtakingly incoherent press conferences about what is literally about to become a global pandemic, and of course Trump delivered it tonight. The press conference is not being received well, to say the least.
First, we should note the news, which is that Coronavirus has arrived, in that the first case of American Coronavirus not linked to travel has been documented in northern California, just this evening.
First known coronavirus case acquired locally, without a foreign connection, is reported in the US, in Northern California. It’s here. https://t.co/zR5xUxR0h1

Thus it is, that this press conference mattered, and not in no small amount because Trump’s numbers reported in the press conference do not match the numbers that Johns Hopkins medical center put out.

It matters, and Trump was not even his usual incompetent self.
On Wednesday, President Donald Trump gave a barely intelligible press conference on the coronavirus outbreak, during which he claimed he saved America by shutting down flights, appointed Vice President Mike Pence to lead a coronavirus task force despite having few qualifications to do so, suggesting his public health budget cuts are no big deal because he can just hire more doctors later, and insisting that it was Democrats, rather than the epidemic, that tanked the stock market this week.
Do I even need to note that the Democratic debate was last night, and the stock market had gone down on Monday and Tuesday during the day? Not that it matters, Trump knows he’s screaming from high on top propaganda mountain, the people watching FOX have no idea when the Democrats most recently debated. Speaking of the stock exchange …

Trump is describing a conversation he had now where he said "is the coronavirus just the flu?"

I found this one particularly relevant …
That answer from Trump on budget cuts may just be about the most absurd thing I've ever heard. They can hire doctors quickly if they need them? He has no clue how biomedical research works. None
— Sam Stein (@samstein) February 27, 2020
Trump doesn’t know how anything works, how could he possibly have any idea how research works? He can’t relate to research. In research the reward is down the road, dependent upon work up front. He truly can’t understand how that even happens.
Below – we covered this already tonight …
Ah, good, the guy whose policies as governor sparked an HIV outbreak in Indiana is on the case. Fantastic.

Right.
And of course …
This has evolved into another Trump rally.
— Kim Franklin-Magana (@InspiringU2) February 27, 2020
His presidency has devolved into one giant Trump rally, from the National Prayer Breakfast, to the State of the Union, to India, and now a press conference on the Coronavirus, they all end like a Trump rally. That’s all he does anymore. Nowadays, though, it seems that he’s attempting to rally himself.
Not working.
