Kirstie Alley gloated about igniting a frenzy on Twitter on Monday after praising Donald Trump for “taking charge” of the coronavirus pandemic.
The 69-year-old Cheers actress caused an uproar on the social media platform after thanking the president for his “recent decorum, sincerity & care” for Americans.
“You’re taking charge and leading in a manner needed & wanted for this country,” Alley tweeted to the embattled president, who has been vilified by celebrities for his response to the novel virus.
Dear Mr. President, @realDonaldTrump [1]
I wanted to thank you for ur recent decorum, sincerity, & care towards us. You’re taking charge & leading in a manner needed & wanted for this country. I highly commend you for ur boundless energy & willingness to solve problems. Thank you— Kirstie Alley (@kirstiealley) March 24, 2020 [2]
One fan suggested Kirstie was on drugs.
“Do another line or two, Kirstie. It will help you see clearly how crazy your thinking is,” said the follower.

Hours later, Alley explained to her 1.2 million followers why she pays naysayers no mind.
“You can tell a lot about people who belittle you for your views and beliefs, when u aren’t even TALKING TO THEM! My bestie and I call these people CHIMERS ..they ALWAYS chime in when u are speaking to someone else,” the actress tweeted.

Wow, Kirstie Alley is a cult multitasker. Although both the Scientology cult and the Trump cult involve poor decision making, irrational anger towards those who disagree with you , an ignorance about how mental and physical illnesses work and also dead people. https://t.co/UpfRnWkirD [8]

Dear Twitterverse:
The fact that Kristie Alley is a garbage human with a proclivity for promoting shitty cults and shittier cult leaders is not news. Stop acting surprised. https://t.co/oknDnJtEvS [14]— Eugene V. Belitsky (@Jhenya_Belitsky) March 24, 2020 [15]
So there’s a lot going on here but can we talk about “decorum”?
A rare area of agreement between Trump supporters & critics is that his sense of decorum is, well, abysmal. He calls reporters “nasty.” He exults about Romney self-quarantining. What decorum are you talking about? https://t.co/Aw7gVduFvI [16]
