Dr. Deborah Birx seems to have gone full Trumper after a fawning interview where she praised Trump’s “ability to analyze and integrate data,” and people are sickened.
Former White House press secretary Joe Lockhart said he is no longer interested in hearing from Birx, the response coordinator for the White House Coronavirus Task Force, suggesting she “made a deal with the devil.”
Lockhart, a Democrat who was former President Bill Clinton’s press secretary, dismissed Birx, a world-renowned global health official with a focus on the field of HIV/AIDS, as a partisan on Friday.
“I, for one, am no longer interested in hearing from Dr. Birx,” he tweeted. “Her vouching for Trump’s vast scientific abilities from his business background was the breaking point. Stepford Doc.”
More Kool Aid please. Just wait for her live shot on OAN. She'll be discussing the scientific roots of Chinese communism and the Democratic plot to spread the virus. https://t.co/aI9WY1krMN [1]

His statement came in response to a Christian Broadcasting Network interview in which Birx praised Trump.
“Trump is so attentive to the scientific literature and the details and the data. And I think his ability to analyze and integrate data that comes out of his long history in business has really been a real benefit,” she said.
“The only rational defense of Dr. Brix that I can think of is she’s made a deal with the devil,” Lockhart said. “Trump said as long as they all go out an kiss his ass he’ll listen to them on the science. Even if that’s the case, it’s not working so well is it?”

Others on Twitter were equally as upset:
This clip unnerved me. It suggests that our top scientists and experts closest to the president also feel the pressure of not discussing just the facts. Not an encouraging sign. https://t.co/b7YVszTPHv [4]

America really needs Fauci and Birx – upon whom the country is depending – not to say the things about Trump that he himself has clearly demonstrated not to be true. It hurts their credibility and makes people start distrust the actual adults in the room. https://t.co/jrUTBKlY20 [8]

Whatever Faustian bargain she made with @realDonaldTrump [10] I hope she can live with it. Because she has “Zero” credibility. https://t.co/of4ejfFUBp [11]
