In Another Crazy Twitter Tantrum Trump Demands Credit for ‘Saving Thousands of Lives’ While He Puts More Lives in Jeopardy
Even in the middle of the most crushing crisis to hit this country since the Great Depression, even while Trump is declaring himself a wartime president, he is still finding time late at night to complain about his ratings and coverage.
He is also demanding credit for saving “thousands of lives,” for which there is no evidence.
This is the way the @nytimes finished a story on me. “You can see the contrast between the steady, assured, informed and strong leadership that VP Biden (Sleepy Joe) has shown, and the bungling, chaotic and dishonest start-stop approach that Mr. (not Pres.) Trump has shown….

And if that happens to be true, Trump doesn’t want it reported. He believes that any headline that isn’t glowing is either fake or a product of an ongoing conspiracy against him. He is never responsible for fault, or criticism – never. This is something adolescents generally get beyond.
….us since the beginning of this crisis.” They meant the opposite? Forgot to mention that I closed our Country to China (and Europe) very early, long before it was considered acceptable to do so. Sleepy Joe said I was “xenophobic”, but I saved thousands of lives! Fake News!

Turns out he was right to close down travel from China – that was early. It doesn’t mean he saved thousands of lives. There is no evidence of that.
Moreover, if he wants credit for the call he made, he needs to take responsibility for the many catastrophic decisions made, including the fact that we still don’t have enough tests. We don’t have enough tests, in part, because Trump didn’t buy the WHO tests available, nor ramp up control of the process early enough.
Trump also was asked just a few days ago whether he took responsibility for some of the mistakes made in the administration’s response, particularly concerning the lack of testing, and the inability to track the disease as it moved along.
If Trump wants credit for one correct call (for which there’s no evidence it saved thousands) then he needs to take responsibility for the many calls that later proved disastrous. But that’s not how Trump works. He demands credit when things turn out great, and he denies, deflects and blames others for things that turn out terribly.
It’s never hard finding Tweets that sum the situation up perfectly.
Looks who's whining on twitter instead of being a president again.
If this guy defended this country with the same energy he defends himself every time his enormous snowflake ego got bruised we'd all be safer.
Bragging about what didn't help, refusing to do what would. Sad. pic.twitter.com/iR8W18Ov5E
