Michelle Obama Shows Melania Trump How It’s Done — Releases Incredible Message to Americans Who Are Worried About Coronavirus

One thing we keep hearing over and over again is how much people miss former President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama right now. We are facing a pandemic. People are scared. Donald Trump is just spewing lies and misinformation, and Melania Trump is…who the hell knows. Let’s just say Melania has been in the background during this international crisis.

Melania has sent a few tweets. And she has retweeted the CDC a few times. So I guess, that is doing something?

On Thursday, she released a PSA that set to reassure Americans that the disruptions to their daily lives will not last.

“While changes need to be made now, this is not how we will live forever,” she said in the minute-long video. “Our children will return to school, people will return to work, we will gather at the places of worship, concerts and sporting events again.”

I mean, whatever. A minute-long video of her puckering her lips and acting glamourous and telling people the basics…it’s fine.

This parody of Melania is spot-on:

But what people need right now is to feel SAFE. They need to know they are not alone. They also need to see their leaders as human. We want to see our leaders relate to us as we struggle. As we struggle to stay inside, struggle with finances, struggle with keeping children at home and homeschooling them. This is HARD.

Enter Michelle Obama.

See, this isn’t hard. Michelle Obama sent an Instagram post that did everything Melania didn’t. It assured people we would be ok. That we would be stronger after this is over. It also gave some real-life suggestions to get through this.

Obama wrote, “These past few weeks have been scary and difficult for many of us. We just don’t have a roadmap for what we’re currently experiencing—that in and of itself can bring up feelings of anxiety, loneliness, and fear. Not to mention the worry we feel about the health and safety of our parents, children, and loved ones and the financial security of so many families.

Whatever you’re going through right now, I want you to know you aren’t alone. Even as we practice social distancing, this new normal is something we are figuring out together.”

As for me, I know when I’m feeling overwhelmed that picking up the phone and calling one of my girlfriends can work wonders. I also know staying close to my community helps me to feel connected and strong. If you’re not sure what that looks like these days, I’ve offered a few suggestions to get you started. But this is by no means an exhaustive list!”

And don’t forget: It’s okay to take a breath, too. Be gentle with yourself. Log off when you need to, take a break if you can, and let others know when you’d like a little help.”

See how easy that was? And how natural it was? That is all Americans want. Melania could learn a lesson from Michelle. It’s clear Melania has no issue stealing from Michelle Obama, she has done it in the past. Maybe it’s time for Melania to take a lesson from her predecessor.
