Trump Found Time on Friday to Bash the Media — But Couldn’t Find Time to Wish Son Barron a Happy Birthday

Friday was Barron Trump’s birthday. Whether you support Donald Trump’s presidency or not, it’s always an event when a First Child has a birthday, and Barron is no different.

The young floppy-haired munchkin we saw in 2016 has certainly grown and is now a very tall, and handsome young man.

Barron received birthday wishes from almost everyone, and #HappyBirthdayBarron was even trending on Twitter for a short time.

But the now 14-year-old Barron didn’t get any public birthday wishes from his father, which seemed rather odd.

Trump has always sent birthday wishes to his other kids, with at least an Instagram post at a minimum.

Other Trump family members sent wishes.

Obviously mother Melania posted a quick tweet:

The initials stand for Barron’s full name: Barron William Trump.

Barron’s half-siblings also sent sweet messages.

This one from sister Tiffany was particularly sweet, since we don’t usually see Barron smile like this:

Don Jr. posted on Instagram as well:

Thus far, nothing from Eric Trump or Ivanka Trump. Maybe Eric was too busy buying stocks, which he recommended all Americans do 3 weeks ago:

So why was Donald Trump silent?

He tweeted many times throughout the day, and spent 90-minutes giving a lie-filled press conference. Daughter Ivanka was even there watching.

Donald and Melania, his third wife, welcomed Barron on March 20, 2006, a little over a year after they got married.

Donald Trump has recently mentioned Barron, so it was odd he didn’t send any public birthday wishes.

While speaking at a rally in Las Vegas, Nevada, last month, Donald Trump joked about having to look up at the tall teen and boasted that he is a computer genius.

Earlier this week, he referenced Barron during a coronavirus press briefing.

“I’ve spoken actually with my son. He says, “How bad is this?'” the president told reporters as he released new government recommendations that people stay home when possible, avoid large gatherings and avoid restaurants and bars.

“It’s bad, it’s bad,” he said he told his son. “But we’re going to be, hopefully, a best case, not a worst case, and that’s what we’re working for.”

Public schools in the District of Columbia and Maryland are closed due to the outbreak, as is the private school in Maryland that Barron attends.

Instead, Trump spent the day yelling at reporters and praising himself for the terrible job he’s done managing the coronavirus pandemic.
