Doctor Stuns Fox News Host When He Details How Unprepared U.S. Was For Coronavirus

We have a stunning example of what happens on State TV when a guest won’t play along with “Propaganda Programing.” Fox host Martha MacCallum had on Dr. Rishi Desai, a specialist in pediatric infectious disease on her Fox show. McCallum’s task – of course – matched that of all Fox hosts in the recent past, and that was to help re-write history and pivot from Coronavirus denial to discussing Coronavirus conquering Donald Trump, and how we have done the right things at the right time to save the nation from the disease.

Dr. Rishi Desai was not having it.

For those of you who can’t listen, we can take some of the transcripts from Second Nexus, which did a fantastic job in setting some of it out (and is a good website).

After discussing the importance of testing, MacCallum stated that the government was working on more efficient testing kits to get everyone tested:

“Yeah, they’re working on it. They should’ve been working on it for months. So the fact is we knew about this from the WHO when? December 31, 2019. So last year, we knew about this. We knew [the virus] was coming, we knew it was a respiratory disease, we knew it was person to person.

Desai noted that the machine tests one person at a time, and yet the disease is infectious such that each person that gets the disease passes it on to two others, thus the testing cannot keep up with the disease.

Then he let the hammer fall:

“We needed this months ago…South Korea and the U.S. had their first confirmed case on the same date: January 19. Since January 19, you look at what South Korea did and what we did. Their population is one-sixth of ours. Look at the cases they have, look at the mortality they have. It’s a trifle compared to what we’re dealing with right now, because we’ve had a very weak response and they had a really strong response.

And that doesn’t conform with the Fox-Trump-history rehabilitation program, leading to a long awkward silence, the type that happens once in a while when some truth sublimates into the airwaves on Fox News.

After that long pause …

“Doctor, thank you, very interesting to talk to you, Dr. Desai. I hope you’ll come back as we move through this difficult period for the country.”

Whoops.

I don’t think he will be allowed back. Dr. Desai didn’t play the game correctly. He was on the air to talk about how much the government was now doing, and wasn’t that great! And he failed. Others notice the quick exit.

It is time for more people to stand up for facts. We have a president selling snake-oil during press conferences. We’re acting like a third world nation. Dr. Desai brings us some first world reality, and bravery (he won’t be back) and we appreciate it.

Peace, y’all
