It’s not exactly a secret that President Donald Trump holds no fondness for the press, especially CNN, so things might get interesting Thursday when first lady Melania Trump appears during a Town Hall hosted by Anderson Cooper and Dr. Sanjay Gupta.
She’s scheduled to talk to the nation’s students about the pandemic, DailyMail [1] reports.
Cooper is one of President Donald Trump’s biggest critics and Trump has no love for “fake news” CNN, one of his favorite references to the network. Melania Trump’s remarks will be pre-recorded and it’s likely she will discuss the stress students are feeling as a result of the novel coronavirus pandemic.
She did just that on Wednesday during a call with about 3,000 state, local, and tribal officials.
“Whether in quarantine or on the front lines of the fight against the virus, many Americans β including children β are experiencing an increase in anxiety, depression, loneliness, isolation, and fear,” she said in a statement released by her office.
Cooper has frequently lambasted Trump for his botched handling of the pandemic, which has killed nearly [2] 100,000 Americans, and on Wednesday he zeroed in on the president for attacking MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough and for threatening to withhold federal funds from Michigan for implementing mail-in ballots during the pandemic.
“Today seeing the largest single-day increase in global cases of coronavirus with more than 93,000 Americans having lost their lives, and states reopening with new cases still rising,” Cooper said. “And a majority of Americans, from both parties, saying they’d prefer going slow. You would think that the president would be concerned about this, and this alone. You might think he would feel the weight of the responsibility he has for 350 million American lives. Or, then, you might look at his Twitter feed.”
Unlike her husband, Melania Trump has made numerous videos from the White House on the pandemic, CNN [3] reports, including how to prevent the virus from spreading and the importance of wearing a face mask and showing her appreciation of those who are on the frontlines.
Now, many on Twitter are wondering why Melania is doing this, since no one cares about her opinion:
“Man, i really needed a town hall full of Melania Trump’s insight into how to cope with the coronavirus” said absolutely no one outside of CNN’s executive structure.

But… But… Doesn’t one have to speak at a town hall? π€
In a language people will understand?
English isn’t one of the languages Melanie speaks fluently! π

So the wives of world leaders will be discussing what, exactly? There are some brilliant women out there married to brilliant men, but the United States contribution is a porn star married to the dumbest man on earth? Another day of humiliation for the people of the US.
