Conservatives Attack Meghan McCain After She Calls Out Kayleigh McEnany for Getting Professional Hair/Makeup Done

Kayleigh McEnany, as White House press secretary, needs to look good for the camera. It’s her job. She is the face of the White House and she needs to look polished and professional.

But Meghan McCain called out McEnany on Friday, noticing that Kayleigh had what appeared to be professional hair and makeup, and wondered why the White House got special treatment when everyone else is living without. Kayleigh’s blonde hair has no roots, and her extensions appear to be in tip-top shape. Same can be said about her eyelash extensions, which must be serviced every two weeks.

And it didn’t go well for McCain, who was swiftly attacked for daring to criticize someone in Trump’s orbit.

Now, the White House does have a professional hair and makeup artist. The makeup artist position is a full-time job funded by taxpayers. But is a makeup artist really an “essential” employee? And also, we don’t know whether Kayleigh uses the stylist or not. For all we know Kayleigh does her own hair and makeup.

Both White House Counselor Kellyanne Conway and former White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders were styled in White House by makeup artist Katie Price, and we can assume that McEnany also uses her services.

Before becoming the Trump administration’s stylist, Price ran a bridal business and also worked as a freelancer for various clients, including CNN and Russia Today.

While it may not be a shock that the president would be interested in maintaining appearances among his staff, it may be surprising to know that it was Anthony Scaramucci who recommended hiring Price. Scaramucci served in the Trump White House as communications director for 10 days. During a CNN broadcast, Scaramucci praised Price on camera, leading to her hiring.

Scaramucci said, “The only thing I ask Sarah — Sarah, if you’re watching, I loved the hair and makeup person we had on Friday, so I’d like to continue to use the hair and makeup person.”

According to Politico, Price was hired and given the title “production assistant.” Her duties include answering phones and emails, press assistant “wrangling duties,” and primarily being on call for makeup for the administration. Price says she has done Vice President Pence’s makeup on “at least one occasion.

Meghan McCain called out Kayleigh’s makeup in a tweet, and it didn’t go very well.

Fair question, right?

Well, McCain isn’t loved by conservatives because she often criticizes Trump, and her father, Sen. John McCain, was very open about his dislike of the president.

But still, some of these responses from conservatives are simply horrible. Take a look:

You sound resentful. Some people learned how to do their hair in high school and college. Kayleigh went to Catholic high school, and from what I know about CS girls, they know how to polish.
