Fox News Host Humiliated After Pressing Biden Spokeswoman to Name One Lie From Trump On Coronavirus

Fox News anchor Dana Perino conducted a hamfisted interview with Biden campaign senior advisor Symone Sanders because she wanted “one example of a lie” from President Donald Trump or his administration regarding the novel coronavirus. Sanders responded quickly, taking no prisoners.

Perino initially played a clip of former Vice President Joe Biden, who took a veiled swipe at Trump during a commencement speech at Columbia Law School Wednesday, Mediaite reports. In the clip, Biden says “You can build a truly representative democracy with more facts than lies.”

“So, I’m assuming that former Vice President Biden is saying that President Trump is the one he’s talking about there, and lies about the coronavirus,” Perino said, then asked Sanders “What specifically he would be talking about.”

Sanders was more than happy to respond, telling her that “the reality is that there has been a lot of misinformation touted about the coronavirus, and some of that, in fact, has come from the White House.” And she criticized the Trump administration for its inaction during the early months of the pandemic.

“In January and February, the Trump administration failed to act quickly with urgency,” Sanders said. “And this is where we are. So, Vice President Biden is going to continue to call it out, while talking about his bold vision for the future.”

Perino tried to sidestep that, saying “the Trump campaign would quibble, and the White House, in terms of, like a specific lie that would be about the coronavirus,” which drew a laugh from Sanders.

“But we’ll let them try to sort that out, I’m sure that is going to happen throughout the campaign,” Perino said, and then asked “But you, you don’t have one off at the top of your head? I can’t think of one.”

Sanders was more than happy to help her remember.

“Everyone that wants a test can get a test,” Sanders said. “How about that lie, because everyone who wants or needs a test in this country is not able to access testing.”

She noted the Trump administration has fallen quite short in regards to providing personal protective equipment (PPE) for hospital personnel, adding that “nurses and doctors are going into operating rooms in trash bags,” while folks across the country take it upon themselves to stitch masks for them.”
