Trump Just Mocked Joe Biden for Wearing a Mask and Americans are Disgusted

Trump has simply continued his descent into self-humiliation, the same one he’s shown throughout the weekend. He retweeted Brit Hume’s most asinine comment in some time. Of course, the object of their scorn was a leader doing what leaders do, demonstrating responsibility, Joe Biden.

First, we’ll set this up.

This is not the first time that Fox’s Brit Hume has made a total ass of himself on Twitter with comments that are clearly biased – Fox used to think it was above such comments, that was their supposed claim in being different.

Brit Hume manages to stand out even in that crowd. He is no Judge Jeanine, but he’s sure working at it.

Anyway:

What kind of asshole comments on how someone “looks” with a mask on? As if that is even the slightest bit relevant? Trump, for one, isn’t above descent into embarrassing himself, that’s for sure.

He retweeted the above tweet.

Now, others have fired back at Trump with more focused anger and intensity. We will start with the invaluable Molly Jong-Fast:

Exactly. It is relevant that Trump doesn’t seem the least bit “moved” by the losses. As hopeless as Trump has been through his entire tenure, it was still conceivable that the number of deaths might have been a gut punch. Now, that highly unlikely outcome seems almost laughable.

Hume got a response from a real journalist:

Wearing a mask is not about protecting you. Even in the reddest state down low, the people in grocery stores and gas stations seem to appreciate the effort. Others? Not so much.

Again, the lack of introspection, sadness, sense of loss, it is staggering and it comes from the Right without shame.

Serious anger:

A good one below:

A great point by another Mississippi Democrat:

There is far more anger in this Twitter thread than usual and far more responses. It is worth looking over.

People are furious that Trump mocks Biden for doing what a leader should do:

****

Peace, y’all
