Trump Just Named Eric Trump’s Brother-in-Law to be the Deputy Chief of Staff at NASA

Wow.

The nepotism is dripping awfully far down the pole. In the apparently endless pursuit of making America more like a once-great monarchy, Donald Trump (or one of Trump’s lackeys) just named Eric Trump’s brother-in-law, Lara’s brother – Kyle Yunaska, to the post of Deputy Chief of Staff at NASA.

Perhaps we should just be happy Trump didn’t appoint Kyle to be viceroy of Tulsa.

Yunaska was named to the position on May 20, 2020, but it took having to look over all things “rocket” for the announcement to stand-out.  Granted, Kyle isn’t some hick from the sticks who has no business being named a new NASA official. In the Trump administration, he’s very qualified – he was a physics major and has a bunch of words.

According to Spaceref.com, from the original NASA statement:

Yunaska has joined NASA after holding various positions at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). Most recently, he served as Director of the National Laboratory Operations Board — a group organized to strengthen and enhance the partnership between DOE and the National Laboratories. In this role, Yunaska joined the DOE Space Coordination Group, which directs and organizes space related efforts across the Department with external stakeholders.

Yunaska also served as the Principal Deputy Director and Chief of Staff for DOE’s Office of Policy and held several advisory roles throughout the Department. Prior to his work at DOE, Yunaska held a range of positions at various academic, nonprofit, and private sector organizations.

That is a whole pile of government words right there. One sees a trainwreck of “deputies” and “policies” and “advisories” and – my personal least favorite word – “stakeholders.”

Does he at least have the academic background?

Yunaska received his Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Physics from East Carolina University.

If Kyle had a Ph.D. in aeronautics or nuclear engineering, I am pretty sure they would have mentioned it.

Another day, another Trump family member climbing the wall in Tulsa, I mean NASA, sorry.

People are furious:

****

Peace, y’all
