Kayleigh McEnany Says Trump Shared ‘White Power’ Video Because Trump Supporters are ‘Demonized’

White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany continues to defend her boss, President Donald Trump after he tweeted a video that showed one of his ardent supporters chanting “white power” by claiming he was supporting his “demonized” supporters.

Trump’s tweet sparked all sorts of fiery backlash Sunday morning after he shared a clip of residents at The Villages, a retirement community in Central Florida, confronting protesters, The Daily Beast reports. At the beginning of the clip, one resident can be heard shouting the racist catchphrase.

In response, Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.), publicly called for Trump to remove his tweet in an appearance on CNN’s program, “State of The Union.”

The tweet was removed an hour or so later, and White House spokesperson Judd Deere tried to do damage control by asserting that Trump “did not hear the one statement made on the video,” and adding the president “is a big fan of The Villages,” and only noticed “the tremendous enthusiasm for his many supporters.”

I’ve watched the video and the troglodyte issuing the racist nonsense can be heard clearly. Deere’s definitely not scoring any points here and if his boss really did miss this, you can look at it two ways: He’s memory-challenged or using his infamous selective-amnesia.

So now McEnany is trying to stem the flow of criticism, also claiming her boss “did not hear the phrase” in the video and removed the tweet when he was informed about it. She also said Trump made it “very clear” to her that “he stands with the people of The Villages” because they support him.

So in other words, they are all racist Trump supporters, perhaps?

“He stands for them and his point in tweeting out that video was to stand with his supporters, who are oftentimes demonized, so he took it down but he does stand with the men and women of The Villages,” McEnany said.

I’ve provided a clip of the video, as part of an interview CNN’s Jake Tapper conducted with Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar, who sidesteps the issue completely. See for yourself below.
