Trump Wants to Challenge Biden to Successfully Complete a Cognitive Exam

Looks like all of the speculation surrounding President Donald Trump’s health has hit home and now he’s zeroing in on Joe Biden. Of course, that couldn’t also have something to do with his tanking poll numbers, could it? Nah. That’s just more speculation, haha.

Trump has been referencing a cognitive screening test that he took during a 2018 physical exam, bringing it up earlier this month, and as is usual, bragging about his stellar performance, according to two people familiar with his remarks, The Washington Post and Joe.My.God report. The president replayed the drama in front of about two dozen White House and reelection officials, telling them about how he was able to do things like remember and recite five words.

Called the Montreal Cognitive Assessment, the test includes pictures of animals and simple questions in order to detect mild cognitive impair such as dementia. At the time it was intended to put an end to questions surrounding Trump’s mental acuity.

But in recalling the story, Trump used the opportunity to take a slap at Joe Biden, by saying he thinks the presumptive Democratic Presidential nominee wouldn’t be able to pass it and then suggested challenging him to do just that, said the people who are familiar with Trump’s comments.

In recent weeks Trump has really been assailing Biden, with his campaign team asking the presidential debate commission to schedule four debates. Trump’s team believes the debates will make Biden appear weaker and will make more errors than Trump. That would almost be funny if it weren’t true, but Trump has encouraged his advisers to attack the former Vice President’s mental sharpness.

Understandably, this has prompted a response from the Biden camp.

“For someone so obsessed with appearing strong, Donald Trump shows us every day just how weak he is,” Biden Press Secretary T.J. Ducklo said in a statement Monday. ” … Donald Trump doesn’t care about the health or economic prosperity of the American people. He only cares about himself.”

None of this comes as any surprise to those of us eagerly awaiting the day Trump is no longer president. He’s that bully in the playground who doesn’t care how he gets his way — as long as he gets it. Let’s hope those tanking poll numbers mean he won’t get his way in November.
