It is so odd to see the rift going on between Trump and his advisers or campaign personnel. Clearly, his advisers know that Trump is far better off not playing the race card so strongly, whereas Trump appears convinced that supporting the white racist base is the only way to shore up his election chances. It creates a divide between what Trump tweets and says versus what his advisers leak and even what Kayleigh McEnany will say in press briefings.
Yesterday resulted in Kayleigh lies so obvious that CNN did one of its strongest takedowns to date with reporter Abby Phillip, finding answers to questions Kayleigh … well, lied about and juxtaposing those lies against “reality.”
Rawstory brings us the raw review of CNN’s [1] breakdown. Despite Trump’s clear tweet earlier in the day saying NASCAR shouldn’t have banned the Confederate flag, Kayleigh tried to argue around it. CNN called it out:
“I mean, he has for many years, since he’s been president, defended Confederate symbols going all the way back to the Charlottesville debate.,” she said. “So, it’s really unbelievable that Kayleigh McEnany would somehow pretend that when the president was weighing in — she claimed that it was just one word at the bottom of a tweet. Well, it was actually a whole sentence that referred to the Confederate flag.”
Yes, Kayleigh wanted people to throw out the sentence to say that the “one word” was taken out of context. Her answer can cause brain injury if you concentrate upon it.
“Asked about Confederate flags being flown at the president’s rallies, she said that, you know, noncampaign merchandise isn’t allowed to be flown at his rallies,” Phillip said. “So I went back to go see, because I have seen Confederate flags at the president’s rallies, and they were actually fairly commonplace back in 2016 and 2015… When I was in Tulsa just a couple of weeks ago, there were Confederate flags all over the place.”
I suspect we all remember because it was commented upon any number of times as being “unusual” and indicative of what was happening in the Trump campaign and how it was perceived by racist followers.
