Trump’s plan to suppress Democratic votes and also call the election’s legitimacy into question (if he loses) is highly dangerous. It is right out of the playbook if one wants to destroy democracy, make elections always seem suspect. It is almost as if someone is plotting to take the United States down as the world’s essential democracy from the inside. Indeed, we have heard just who that person is and he’s associated with Trump. It isn’t funny.
It is funny when the Trumps’ unbelievable incompetence rises again, defeating their very goals. First, the president Trump was warned by Twitter (months ago) about his tweet discussing voter fraud and mail-in ballots. In spite of the warning, Trump hasn’t stopped. Meanwhile, Don Jr. is busy digging himself a hole and becoming the laughing stock of the campaign. He can’t even do misdirection right.
Junior posted a tweet that showed a mailman attempting to switch ballots. He did it on behalf of Republicans – and got caught, not with millions as Trump asserts, but a handful.
Donald Trump, Jr. posted a link to an Associated Press story syndicated by WSAZ-TV.
“A West Virginia postal carrier has pleaded guilty to altering mail-in requests for absentee voter ballots. Thomas Cooper entered the plea Thursday in federal court in Elkins. Cooper was charged in May after eight mail-in requests for absentee voter ballots had their party affiliations altered,” the AP reported [1].
Eight!! Trump says that we’re going to have millions, perhaps 20% of the vote! (Which is interesting since Trump is down anywhere from 10-15% in the polls.) So somehow tens of millions of illegal ballots are going to find their way into the country from China (on Trump’s watch!) and it’ll happen with no one getting caught beforehand. Even though this asshole got caught attempting to muck with eight!
“An investigation found five of the ballot requests were changed from Democrat to Republican with a black ink pen. On the other three requests, the voters’ party was not changed but the word Republican was later circled in black ink,” the AP explained.
Congratulations to law enforcement. LAW AND ORDER! And it’s a Republican – perhaps egged on by the president always talking about fraud? – that gets caught.

The above is the ultimate message. Voter fraud is exceedingly rare. The bigger “fraud” is the concern about manipulation by computers and lies. Fake news, etcetera. Voter fraud, whether by alleged “illegals,” or stuffed ballots, simply doesn’t happen. The few times it does, it’s almost always caught.
Period. We shouldn’t have to risk our lives to vote. But Trump wants to suppress the vote as much as possible.
