Kimberly Guilfoyle Says Being Diagnosed with COVID-19 Was a ‘Blessing From God’

Kimberly Guilfoyle, Donald Trump Jr.’s girlfriend, and a top adviser for President Donald Trump tested positive for COVID-19 earlier this month, but rather than worrying about it, she says the diagnosis is a “blessing from God” that helps her understand “what other people are going through.”

She tested positive for the novel coronavirus after visiting South Dakota prior to Trump’s July 4 event at Mount Rushmore, Newsweek reports. Guilfoyle wasn’t in close contact with Trump and was immediately isolated after the diagnosis.

Appearing Wednesday evening on the Trump campaign’s online program The Right View, Guilfoyle noted she still wasn’t showing any symptoms.

“I mean personally I’m doing my best and following my doctor’s orders,” she said. “So far I am asymptomatic and have been feeling really pretty good.”

“I accept this as a blessing from God so that I can understand what other people are going through and those who have lost loved ones,” she added. “And so I know it’s a blessing in my life, and thank you once again, to each and every one of you for reaching out as well. I really appreciate it.”

Newsweek attempted to contact the Trump administration for further comment regarding Guilfoyle but did not receive a response before publication. But Guilfoyle said Trump contacted her as soon as he found out and wanted to know how she was doing.

“I know personally that the president is doing everything he possibly can for all American families (is she delusional?) and to usher along a vaccine while balancing the safe reopening of America,” Guilfoyle said. “And I have the greatest belief and faith in our President and his competence and his skill set to be able to usher us through this difficult time.”

How this woman can say this when deaths from COVID-19 continue to escalate is anyone’s guess. The U.S. death toll is rapidly approaching 137,000 and Trump is continually undermining any real progress here.

And while Guilfoyle says all this, it should be noted cases in the U.S. are surging after the briefest respite and the country still has the highest number of cases and deaths of any nation. On Wednesday alone, the U.S. reported another single-day high increase in new cases, with 59,453 infections.

Guilfoyle can remain as happy as she likes but this doesn’t mean this is in any way a good situation. But then it’s typical of team Trump to ignore facts. It’s just like any other day at the White House.
