Rush Limbaugh Tells Young People to Not Wear Masks or Socially Distance and to ‘Spread Herd Immunity’

Rush Limbaugh is an odd person to be advocating for herd immunity, it almost makes one question whether he actually has lung cancer. It would be difficult to name the type of person with more risk factors for COVID than Limbaugh.

On the other hand, Limbaugh might be such an instinctual asshole that he doesn’t really have any awareness as to what he’s proposing, other than driving the economy along as much as possible, and letting a few young people die in the process.

Limbaugh dismisses the mandates of masks and social distancing:

“They’re not reporting the survivability rate. The answer, here: Don’t mandate closures. Don’t mandate social distancing. Don’t even mandate mask-wearing. Encourage people who are old or who have a compromised immune system to stay quarantined. Stay hidden away. Do not go out. But let the young and the healthy go out and live their lives … and spread herd immunity, because that’s ultimately — until we get therapeutics or vaccine, that’s going to be the answer to this.”

Limbaugh may be willing to see two million Americans die, but others were far more hesitant.

TWO MILLION!

This is the United States of America! And we’re supposed to be making America Great Again?

Maybe we should ask Europe, South Korea, Australia, Canada, pretty much every other damned nation on Earth except maybe Brazil and Russia – the two Trumpiest nations on the globe, go ask them what is “ultimately going to be the answer to this.” Oh, and there is exactly no evidence that herd immunity works. There are some indications that one can get COVID again after a few months.

Donald Trump has led a large portion of this nation into a mass psychosis that now threatens both the health and economic viability of the nation. It seems like he alone would be capable of doing something like this. We bet that even the weirdest conservatives wouldn’t dismiss masks or have smothered the CDC – that is uniquely Trump.

Once Trump made his plan clear, every Trump follower had to go along. Had Trump tried to get a law passed on wearing masks, and demanded that each citizen wear a mask any time outdoors, we’d be infinitely better off, with that one change alone, and Trump would be seen as far more competent on COVID. Instead, they’re all going the other way.

Breathtaking.
