Sen. John Kennedy Tells Fox News Audience to ‘Build a Fallout Shelter’ if Biden Wins Because the ‘Wolves’ Will Come

Former Vice President Joe Biden’s chances of winning the 2020 presidential election are increasing daily and that has one Republican senator in Louisiana worried.

Appearing Monday on Sean Hannity’s Fox News show, Sen. John Kennedy said Americans are going to need fallout shelters because Biden’s foreign policy is too weak and it puts Americans at risk of future attacks, The Washington Examiner [1] reports.

“Well the vice president says he will transform America,” he told Hannity. “He will, and the American people will pay a fearsome price. His foreign policy is hugs and hot cocoa for America’s enemies. If he’s elected, my advice to you is: build a fallout shelter.”

“Build a fallout shelter,” Kennedy said. “You’ll need it. Weakness invites the wolves.”

This is laughable. If anything, most foreign leaders view President Donald Trump as a buffoon. This is quite clear to leaders like North Korea’s Kim Jong Un [2] and of course to Russian President Vladimir Putin, who’s used Trump in various ways to interfere [3] in U.S. elections.

But Kennedy isn’t just worried about Biden’s foreign policy. He’s also worried about the Democratic presidential nominee’s domestic policy. Biden, he claims, wants taxpayers to “surrender our money and our freedom, every bit of it, to Washington,” and added, “if you want 52 weeks of vacation a year, vote for him because he’s going to bankrupt your employer.”

And Biden isn’t going to do young Americans any favors, Kennedy said.

“Here’s what he says to our young people: ‘Finish school, get a job, and work hard. So I, Vice President Biden, can give the money you earned to someone who didn’t.’ And finally, I think he will eviscerate our healthcare delivery system. I’m sure he will say, ‘If you like your healthcare, you can keep it.’ But we’ve seen that movie before,” he said.

But under Trump, America’s problem-laden healthcare system is already in trouble and the president is trying to destroy the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare). He’s recently asked [4] the Supreme Court to strike down the ACA, right in the middle of a deadly pandemic.

Kennedy also took a slap at Biden over gun control issues, citing the increase in gun-related violence that’s occurred in a number of states over the past few weeks. He blamed Biden and President Barack Obama for failing to address racial inequality and the rising crime rates within the U.S.

“Why didn’t they address the problems of our inner cities? I mean, Chicago is now the largest outdoor shooting range in America,” he said. “And other cities are following. It’s not caused by the coronavirus. It’s not caused by racism. It’s caused by nihilism.”

But this allegation is completely unfair. Obama and Biden made many attempts to pass effective legislation which was rejected repeatedly by Republicans. And after the deadly Sandy Hook shooting, Obama signed 23 executive actions and a few follow-up actions that effectively tightened up the nation’s system of background checks, Vox [5] reports.

Hopefully, Biden will continue to make good on these efforts to tighten lax gun control laws if he becomes president, but that of course, remains to be seen. Undoubtedly more than a few foreign leaders will be glad to see Trump out of office and perhaps Biden will have the chance to retool the nation’s healthcare system which has been undermined, if anything, by Trump.

As a pandemic rages on, let’s hope this is a time of healing.
