Trudeau Refuses Request to Visit White House to Celebrate Trump’s New Trade Agreement

Under Trump, our nation has fallen so far that prominent global leaders are refusing to risk coming into the United States.

In another time, when the United States was a global leader and the most advanced nation on earth, most world leaders would have loved a request to spend some time in our sophisticated safety zone.

Not now. People are refusing to come. We are the world’s most welcoming country to the virus. World leaders want no part of it.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau of Canada is one of the three seen as the modern leaders of the free world, Merkel, Macron, and Trudeau make up the “Axis of Sane Good Democracies.” He is also the man that makes the net and Melania swoon. He smartly said “Thanks, but no thanks,” to the White House.

From the AP:

Trudeau is conducting online Cabinet meetings instead of in person meetings because of the coronavirus pandemic.

A senior U.S. administration official, speaking on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to be quoted by name, said Trudeau had multiple conflicts related to the start of Parliament and coronavirus regulations which require Canadians who travel abroad to quarantine for 14 days on return. The official said Trudeau has asked to speak with Trump by phone.

Of course, unlike the United States, Canada remains committed to keeping up appearances. So, unlike Trump, the Canadian government is not going to announce, “F-you! I’m not coming to your diseased nest,” so they politely say they have some conflicts. The conflict is a bunch of stuff that Trudeau slips in to avoid Trump and his advisers.

We wonder if the trade deal could include agreement where Trudeau also runs the United States? Kinda like a part-time job for him? He could remain the Canadian Prime Minister as a full-time job and be a Temp president? Just sort of looking after the place until the owners come back? Seems reasonable.
