Donald Trump is having a very rough Friday.
Trump completely lost it at NBC’s Peter Alexander after the reporter asked why Trump hadn’t spent “more energy” on helping states to fund resources for the November election.
“Peter, you know nothing about my energy, OK?” Trump fired back during a press spray at the White House. “You know nothing about what I’m doing. Listen, you know nothing about what I do.
“NBC — I just told you about the false report that NBC put out the other night about the mayor of Portland,” he added. “This is the kind of stuff you get. You’ll see what happens. It’s common sense. Everyone knows mail-in ballots are a disaster.”
Trump suggested on Twitter Thursday the November election should be pushed back if mail-in voting threatened to cause a delay in finding out the results, writing, “With Universal Mail-In Voting (not Absentee Voting, which is good), 2020 will be the most INACCURATE & FRAUDULENT Election in history. It will be a great embarrassment to the USA. Delay the Election until people can properly, securely and safely vote???”
Trump also referenced New York’s June 23 primary election, where officials finished counting absentee ballots just this week. “Take a look at New York City,” the president told reporters at the briefing. “They’re still counting your ballots. You know that? They had a race, a small race, by comparison. Tiny. It’s so messed up, they have no idea. There are ballots missing.”
Alexander commented on Trump’s response in a subsequent message on Twitter, writing, “My question, which Trump never answered, was: If he’s so concerned about the election, why isn’t he directing his energy to secure more funding and staffing to make sure it’s conducted safely and fairly.”

.@PeterAlexander : We heard your frustrations with how long it takes to count ballots. So why not spend more energy to provide states with additional funding for elections?
