Eric Trump Gets Hammered After Seemingly Inventing a ‘Friend’ Who Faced Election Rigging

One of the very few things for which this country can claim some success is running elections that at least count the votes that have been cast properly. Voter suppression is another issue entirely, and one for which the country has a terrible record. But when it comes to elections for federal office, and most statewide offices, the means of voting are too decentralized the “rig” with much efficiency and the vote count has been relatively trustworthy. For that very reason, Jared Kushner and Brad mmeredParscale (and whichever foreign help they may have had) pushed their social media in places with a more direct impact on the outcome (not the overall vote) in Michigan, Wisconsin, and Ohio.

It is hard to rig elections, and in most states – by far – elections are pretty stable. Access to the vote is another matter.

That is why so many people called bullshit on this Eric Trump tweet. Many people call out what is seemingly obvious – he’s making this up. This “friend” doesn’t exist, it seems Eric is simply trying to cast doubt on America’s ability to hold an election.

Eric seems to be working hard at getting dad’s attention, and even this isn’t going to do enough. Moreover, in the scenario described above, we fail to see how it is different than a voter registration notice that “allows” a person to walk in and vote three times? IF Eric was telling the truth, it would impugn the voter registration rolls, not the mail-in ballot, or the ballot box.

But the main point remains, there is a seamless message running through every Trump while they’re down by 8-10 points to Biden – don’t trust the vote. They want you to believe that, for the first time in memory, someone is rigging the presidential vote. This is the first presidential vote we can’t trust, according to the Trumps. It is also why no one believes this tweet:

It is true that over the last two days, we have noticed an uptick in tweets by conservatives talking about “stories they’ve heard,” all meant to hack at the integrity of the election, aka “democracy.”

This is exactly right.

No one really believes any of this. But people do believe that, having destroyed the nation’s physical and mental health, they are now set to destroy its democratic roots.
