Montana Trumpers Gathering Signatures For Kanye So They Can ‘Take Away Votes From Creepy Uncle Joe’

One group in Yellowstone, Montana is seeking to have rapper Kanye West’s name placed on the ballot, in the hopes of taking votes away from Joe Biden. And members of the group have been approaching people and seeking signatures by telling them their signatures could help take votes away from Biden, the Billings Gazette and Joe.My.God. report.

“You want to help Trump?” one organizer called out in front of the Yellowstone County Courthouse. “We’re trying to take votes away from creepy Uncle Joe.”

Biden, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, has regularly surged well ahead of Trump in the polls so these nudniks are promoting a man who’s apparently mentally ill to replace Trump, who’s also mentally ill. That makes about as much sense as slapping yourself in the face but considering that the Trump administration has turned politics into a carnival show it’s the current nightmare we’re living in right now.

Colorado has recently placed West on its ballot, and according to a report last week by The Associated Press, lawyers and activists tied to the GOP have worked to secure West’s place on the ballot in Wisconsin, Ohio, Vermont, and Arkansas.

Montana organizers working for West’s campaign must gather 5,000 signatures from registered voters in order to have his name placed on the ballot and they have until August 19, according to state law.

West has admitted more than once that his real intentions here are to harm Biden’s campaign. And this is tragic because it gives those of us suffering mental illness a bad name. It’s bad enough that people have to deal with the stigma associated with mental illness. That stigma portends that we unable to think rationally, that we are somehow dangerous when the majority of us aren’t. I’m adding myself here because I’ve been hospitalized three times due to mental health issues, all centering around depression and anxiety, so this is personal to me.

West has previously admitted going off his meds and it’s caused strife in his marriage to Kim Kardashian. He’s made some truly bizarre remarks, insisting at his July rally in Charleston, South Carolina that beloved abolitionist Harriet Tubman “never actually freed the slaves, she just had them work for other white people,” and claiming at one point that he wouldn’t challenge pharmaceutical companies because ‘they would kill” him. He also claimed he opposed gun control because “shooting guns is fun” and that without guns the U.S. may be “enslaved” by China.

At one point during the rally, things became too much for the hip hop artist and he broke down in tears while discussing abortion, telling his audience that his mother stood up against his father who tried to push her to have an abortion while she was pregnant with West.

“There would have been no Kanye West — because my dad was too busy,” he said.

West deserves a measure of empathy and really should not be derided for his off-the-wall behavior. He’s clearly suffering and deserves an intervention, not a seat in the Oval Office. After four years of insanity, this country needs a break. Hopefully, people will ignore the activists who are trying to get signatures because the Trump nightmare needs to end.
