A video of a white woman verbally attacking two Latino men who were taking a walk in San Francisco has gone viral on Twitter, with at least 1.7 million views.

“My boyfriend was walking to his car when he witnessed a woman in his neighborhood yelling racial slurs at a Latino man walking his dog,” Twitter user taurus queen explained. “My [boyfriend] called for her to stop and proceeded to walk to his car. She was waiting for him up the hill and started to attack him verbally.”

She notes that she contacted law enforcement but claimed no one was going to investigate the incident, Raw Story reports.

But Stanley Gonzalez, one of the men who was targeted by the angry woman, filmed her hateful tirade Sunday, ABC 7 News reports.

“She turned around and started screaming racial slurs like ‘Oh, your dog looks like you, a Mexican dog!” he said.

And that’s when Gonzalez decided to start filming.

“For me, I’ve seen too much with what’s going on with the nation…I felt like it was my duty, something just snapped to defend this man,” he said.

After checking to make sure the man was okay, Gonzalez continued walking down the street to his car. Where the woman was waiting for him. And had a few more things to say.

“Nasty Mexican dog, nasty Mexican dog!” she yelled repeatedly, accompanying that with a number of expletives and derogatory terms for a good minute or more.

The incident happened on the border between San Francisco and Daly City where Gonzalez lives. It prompted Daly City’s Vice Mayor to speak out.

“We stand united against hate, and our communities will not tolerate this type of behavior,” said Vice Mayor Juslyn Manalo. “This is unacceptable.”

Gonzalez, in his interview with ABC 7 News, said strong religious beliefs helped him remain calm.

“I didn’t want to stoop down to her level,” he said. “I just told her…I’ll bless you and we’ll leave it at that.”

And he said he encourages anyone caught in similar situations to speak out.

“Don’t let all those people who are filled with hate and anger just get away with it. Let your words be known!”
