Donald Trump held a campaign rally Saturday night outside of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, hours after he announced Judge Amy Coney Barrett as his pick for Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s replacement on the Supreme Court. The crowd cheered when Trump kicked off the rally by mentioning Barrett, noting she is his third Supreme Court nominee. At the rally a giant screen read “fill that seat,” the latest chant to become popular at his rallies. Mind you, Ginsburg hasn’t even been buried yet, but hey, we never accused Trump and his supporters of being classy.
The rally was basically a rerun of his past rallies, hitting the same grievances.
Following the trend of his previous stops, Trump didn’t spend much time talking about the coronavirus that has sickened more than 7 million across the U.S. and killed more than 200,000. Those numbers include more than 160,000 positive cases in Pennsylvania and more than 8,100 deaths in the state.
He accused the media reporting those numbers of being “very upset with the vaccine because it will be out too soon.”
A decreasing number of Americans are willing to take a vaccine, according to the Pew Research Center. A poll showed 72 percent of respondents were willing to take a vaccine in May, compared to 50 percent this month.
Infectious disease experts say a vaccine will not be effective if only half the country gets it.
The crowd of supporters at Harrisburg International Airport was mostly unmasked.
But what was tough to miss was Trump’s appearance. Now, for the past 5 years Trump has been in politics, he’s looked the same. The same yellow coiff, the orange face. But the makeup seems to be more pronounced than ever. As if he’s applying in the back of the car, in the dark, without a mirror.

At least one source has claimed he does his own makeup. From the haphazard jobs I've seen, I believe it. I can just hear him saying he knows better than any makeup artist and, besides, he's terrified of other people's germs.
