REPORT: Trump Campaign is Plotting a Coup to ‘Bypass’ a Joe Biden Win

This nightmare continues to get worse, as we knew that it would. Remember Michael Cohen testifying to Congress? He guaranteed that Donald Trump will not give up power willingly.

#Trump Coup Plot is trending number one due to a new article out.

The Trump campaign is setting up the infrastructure to bypass the regular “electors” in various states with Republican legislatures. They will claim “fraud” and the Republican legislatures will submit their own electors, even if Biden is declared the winner in that state. According to Vanity Fair, reporting on an Atlantic article:

The Atlantic’s Barton Gellman reports that the Trump campaign has been discussing “contingency plans to bypass the election results and appoint local electors in battleground states where Republicans hold the legislative majority.” Citing the president’s baseless claims of fraud, Team Trump could ask GOP-controlled state governments to choose electors, completely ignoring an unfavorable or uncertain popular vote, state and national Republican sources told Gellman.

In essence, they are asking the state Republicans to say: “We don’t trust our own result, so we’re sending our own Republican electors to DC to vote in the electoral college.”

Who is going to stop them? The courts? I guess that’s what Trump meant when he said that he needed a 9th justice to “decide the election” as he did today. More below.

Notice that the actual votes count doesn’t play into this at all except for the fact that they’re only doing this if Joe Biden gets more votes. Disgusting. There is no plan to claim that there were fraudulent ballots if they win a state. In the press conference that ended just an hour ago, Trump once again refused to commit to a peaceful transition of power. He once again said “we’ll have to see” and once again talked about fraudulent ballots which haven’t even been cast yet, never mind found to be fraudulent. Of course, actually finding them to be fraudulent doesn’t factor into the plan. They will simply declare them fraudulent.

And of course, the same Republican party that openly embraced the reversal on “the voters should have a say” on the Supreme Court (in 2016) are very open to this:

However authoritarian this kind of end-around may seem, the Constitution doesn’t forbid such a move, and it’s something the Trump campaign could pull off. Indeed, state Republican leaders have already casually indicated that they’d be all too happy to enable this kind of power grab. “I’ve mentioned it to them, and I hope they’re thinking about it too,Lawrence Tabas, chairman of the Republican Party in Pennsylvania, one of the swing states on which the 2020 race could hinge, told Gellman. “It is one of the available legal options set forth in the constitution.”

Fck you!

It is not legal to simply declare ballots fraudulent and appoint your own. IF there is a “hole” in the law that seems to allow it, it doesn’t mean you can do it and still claim to be a Republic. IF you “do it” then you better just damned well admit that we’re now under the authoritarian rule of the Republikan party and that’s that.

Additionally, the fact that they’re pushing people to vote at the polls, despite this beautiful plan to claim fraudulent ballots, makes one HIGHLY suspicious that they’re not exactly worried about vote tallies at the polls. Remember, Trump threaded the perfect needle last time, 70,000 votes over three states. Couldn’t have planned it more perfectly.

The most depressing aspect of this is that IF Trump and his party are really kommitted, there may be no way to stop them. Trump will likely declare viktory before all the votes are counted, then declare fraud when he starts to lose as votes come in, and they’re off and running. RepubliKans in each state will simply take care of it, at least to get it to … the Supreme Kourt Star Chamber Krewe.

It is almost a given that Trump will lose the popular vote by a greater margin than last time. When he does, it will mean that in seven of the last eight presidential elections, the Democrat got more votes than Republicans. But, Republicans will have been in power half that time. Democrats will have received more votes in five of the last six presidential elections, and – if Trump succeeds, the Republicans will have had the presidency sixteen of the 24 years.

Amerika under Republikans, and Russia. Democracy is slipping away, under Republican rule. If you think that they can’t or won’t do this, just consider how easily Trump ignored the House’s oversight and impeachment proceedings.
