Slurring Trump Says He ‘Will Negotiate’ a Third Term Because He’s ‘Entitled To It Based On How He Was Treated’

Permit us a line from a great book we wrote: “Perhaps we’re getting a bit paranoid, or maybe we’re just getting around to where we needed to be all along.” It is a difficult question one asks oneself when dealing with Trump. He exhibits fascist behavior all the time and we note it here. On the other hand, he also spews a lot of bullshit that no one takes seriously, too. But on his repeated talk of a third term, we’re choosing panic because he legitimately seems to want it and there might be a reason he keeps bringing it up. Pretend for just a moment he wins (pain), one should ask whether it is that radical that upon winning he’d say, “I campaigned on running a third term and people voted for me when I talked about it. So the people approved it.” Is that so insane?

If it is insane, someone has to explain why Trump keeps bringing up the third term thing when he’s in the fight of his life to just get a second one. According to Slate, last night Trump said: (Continued BELOW)

“Fifty-two days from now we’re going to win Nevada, and we’re going to win four more years in the White House,” Trump told a crowd of at least 5,000 people in Minden, Nevada that was standing shoulder-to-shoulder. “And then after that, we’ll negotiate, right? Because we’re probably—based on the way we were treated—we are probably entitled to another four after that.”

So there you go. If you’re not nice enough to a president, the constitution goes out the window and he is “entitled” to ignore the constitution and “negotiate” it. Apparently, in Trump’s mind, we won’t have an election in 2024 if he wins, or at least he’ll negotiate running. Were that not bad enough, it seems that if he wins this election there’s too good a chance that they have a way to “win” when getting far too few votes.

We do also want to note that the constitution itself – the thing we construct our government around – plays virtually no role in Trump’s mind on this matter. The constitution seems up for “negotiation” because he’s just treated so badly. We should point out, that’s both a fascist and weakass position.

What a punk. It is time to get paranoid about this because we might need to confront our worst fears very soon.
