Trump Claims Joe Biden is ‘Taking Something’ to ‘Pep Him Up’ and ‘Give Him Some Clarity’

Another day, another instance of President Donald Trump making baseless claims about Joe Biden on Fox News. This time he told the hosts on Fox & Friends that he thinks the 2020 Democratic presidential nominee is “taking something.” Then he suggested the former Vice President “should take a drug test” after referring to Biden’s behavior between the debates as “very strange.”

At one point during his appearance Tuesday, the president was asked about the upcoming presidential election debates, and Mediaite reports Trump responded:

“I don’t know which Biden is going to show up because I watched him during the debates where they had twenty people on the stage before they started calling it out, and I watched him and he was a disaster. You don’t get worse, he was grossly incompetent.”

Somehow the fine folks at F&F never asked him about his debate performances with Hillary Clinton, where he sometimes stalked around the stage like a dispossessed ghoul. Clinton later said Trump made her feel “incredibly uncomfortable” and noted he breathed down her neck while he paced around, BBC News reported.

“Do you stay calm, keep smiling, and carry on as if he weren’t repeatedly invading your space?” she said. “Or do you turn, look him in the eye and say loudly and clearly: ‘Back up you creep, get away from me. I know you love to intimidate women, but you can’t intimidate me, so back up.'”

And it’s hilarious that Trump calls Biden “grossly incompeten.,” Trump can barely get through a few sentences without making a complete ass out of himself. But Trump has more to say on F&F about Biden’s so-called “grossly incompetent” debate performance.

“Then I watched him against Bernie and he was okay. He wasn’t Winston Churchill (as if Trump ever was), I can tell you that, but he was okay. He was fine. I said it was like an even debate, and so I said what did he do?” Trump said. “What happened to him all of a sudden? Because he was okay, and Bernie was okay. It was an extraordinarily boring debate, but he got through it, and I said what’s the difference between now and some of those classic moments in the other debates, and something was strange, in my opinion.”

“I won’t say what, but a lot of people think that something happened, and you just can’t do that kind of stuff,” Trump said in conclusion.

Then Steve Doocy responded, “Well Mr. President, you have responded that Joe Biden should take a drug test.”

“I do. I would take one too, Trump replied. “Yeah, I would say he should take a drug test.”

Well here’s a thought Mr. President: Why don’t you take your own advice and also take a drug test? I’m guessing the results of the said test would be interesting.

Doocy asked Trump if he thought Biden was taking “some sort of drugs to pep him up?”

“I do,” Trump said. “He’s taking something. He’s taking something… Gives him some clarity or whatever. Take a look at him…”

Not long after that Trump switched from picking on Biden to picking on Kamala Harris.

“I tell you what, I’ve seen him in the debate with the other people, including Kamala, and nobody treated him worse than Kamala,” he said. “He picked Kamala and nobody treated him worse, called him a racist, called him everything you can be called, and then he says ‘I’m going to pick Kamala,’ and Kamala has her own problems. I mean, she went from 15 down to nothing. She dropped out before they got to Iowa. So she, I think she’s not a good choice.”

But perhaps Biden picked Harris because he recognized his own shortcomings, something that Trump is incapable of doing. On any given day he speaks fluent word salad and it will be nice when we have a president who talks a full meal.
